Im Rican but i always try to be the more objective as possible and dont get carried away from the passion to local favorites. I think that after beating Cazares twice hes knocking on the p4p lists but i think he just need another top guy in his resume to get in there, Calderon has good boxing skills but his only weakness is that he doesnt have power in his punches so maybe the masses will never get to know him ....what you all think?

You can certainly make the case. I have him on the cusp. He is a two weight champion fighting a class above what is comfortable for him, and winning.

Not a spectacular win this latest one, though.

To me, yes. Making the call that someone like Ivan should or shouldn't be in the P4P lists is part of the reason P4P was concieved. This guy has ridiculous skills. He would school the **** out of many of the top fighters in any weight class at equal size. The fact that he hasn't had an opportunity to fight better competition, or someone already on the P4P list isn't anyone's fault, and doesn't negate his incredible ability.

I'd say you put him in weights above, he still wins.

If you placed him in the talent infested welterweight/lightweight division however... it might derail him.

These divisions have a solid 3-4 fighters with great boxing skill and these fighters have power to boot.

Lightweight: Casamayor, Campbell, Anthony Peterson etc...

Welterweight: Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams etc..

In terms of pound for pound I cannot see him beating all these people if he were relative in size. (i.e let's give him 5"3 height fighting at lightweight, 5"5 fighting at welterweight)

Do you know the funny part?? The ten top fighters at 105lbs are taller than Ivan Calderon. And he can still make that weight easily. He is at 108lbs just looking for more money. He got tired of waiting for an unification bout at 105lbs

He just need to find a fight against the weakest flyweight champion. Kind of the same thing Floyd used to do.

after watching his rematch against cazares, i have to say no. i think if the theres no head butt happenned, hugo could catch up, bcoz i saw that he already hurt ivan. hugo isnt a good starter but stronger as the rounds go.

He is a presser fighter like Cazares but has more boxing skills then him. He is big too like him. If you want to see him fight you should go to youtube and check out his fights. I think he has the goods to beat Calderon. He did well against Glenn Donaire who was bigger than him.
