He has too much ego to not come back for the right fighter and the right price. As ridiculous as it once sounded, I can see a potential match up against Pac next year as a comeback fight. And if not Pac someone like Cotto or Berto will have to emerge as the clear top welter and market themselves as a marquee figher. Who ever wins the PBF sweepstakes will really have to do a good job of antagonizing him in the media as well. That will not only attack his ego but it will also serve as promotion for the fight.

What do you mean who cares? WW is the most popular division in boxing currently. Jumping around from division to division (much like Pac is doing now) cherrypicking doesn't mean much. At least for Pac though he does have a resume, and I'd consider him better than Floyd...Losses and all.

To answer if Floyd will come back...I'd say it'll depend on the situation if he KNOWS he can win. If De La Hoya loses to pac he'll definitely come back to fight Pac. If somebody becomes the current WW king and he knows he can beat them then he will. I'm doubting he'll come back for WW king though because it's going to be very risky...Probably Paul Williams, or Margarito.
Both are much taller, have a freakish workrate, are a lot stronger than Mayweather, etc. I honestly don't want to see him fight Williams, or Marg because it'll be a crap fight. You'll see floyd RUNNING around the ring for 12 rounds, taking pop shots, and showboating to draw attention away from the fact he'd be SCARED to stand with either of them. Can't say as I'd blame him, but the fight would be crap. If Marg would pressure him like he did Cotto though he'd have a shot on knocking mayweather out, and SHOULD at least win a decision for better workrate. I'm thinking Paul Willaims would have a better chance of knocking him out though since he proves he has one punch knockout power when he wants to use it (quintana).
As much as both of these guys should MURDER him, and I disliek Floyd i'd still give him 50/50 chance of winning. Of course like I said he'd win on ***running***, and popshoting.

im not even reading this.... after reading the first sentance... ill just give you a blurb from his floyd wiki page..

Floyd Joy Mayweather, Jr. (born Floyd Joy Sinclair on February 24, 1977), is a former American professional boxer who has a record of 39-0 (25 KOs). He is the son of Floyd Mayweather Sr., a former welterweight boxing contender.
From July 18, 2005 through June 2, 2008 he was rated by The Ringpound for pound boxer in the world. magazine as the number-one [1] Mayweather has won six world boxing championships in five different weight classes; he is the former WBC welterweight champion, a title he vacated upon his retirement. He was named Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year in 1998 and 2007. ESPN.com listed Mayweather at #48 on their "50 Greatest Boxers of All Time" list.[2]

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floyd_Mayweather_Jr.

    end of story

edit: i actually just read your response...
what kind of guy are you?

"youll see floyd running around the ring for 12 rounds, taking pop shots, and show boating to draw attention away from teh fact he'd be scared to stand with either of them"

    you mean BOXING to victory?

why would you stand their and trade with someone when thats not your strength?
floyd does what he has to to win not fight out of character to impress people like YOU!

you dont see the san antonio spurs running a fast break offense because it entertains the fans.
or derek jeter trying to hit a home run every time up at bat because the fans like it
or the vikings trying to put up points on the board like the chargers because it puts fans in the seats

these people do what they need to be succesful and it works for them... forget standing and trading thats just being STUPID!

No, he didn't solidify himself as the best welterweight...But he did solidify himself as one of the best p4p fighters ever...and he did solidify himself as superstar boxer whose celebrity status gives boxing much needed publicity...and he did retire so he doesn't HAVE to fight anyone if he doesnt want to...BUT HE WILL; if the impact on his legacy/bank account is big enough.

For those who say FIGHT MARGO AND WIN AND HIS LEGACY WILL BE SEALED are truely insane...Margo had a super close fight vs clottey and lost to Paul Williams. He has much more to prove and if mayweather were to beat him, margo would be seen in the same light u mayweather haters had for corrales after he beat mayweather...a washed up, overrated, handpicked bum.
