Recently I watched again the Oscar Dela Hoya-Felix Trinidad fight on YouTube and I just realized how that was a big-time highway robbery with the victim being Oscar. I have to admit, the first time I watched it live years ago, I was still young then and didn't know much about boxing scoring. I was biased because I hated Oscar for being that famous, so I rooted for Felix.

But seeing it again and scoring it unbiasedly(I still don't like the Golden Boy), it was a "boxing clinic" by Dela Hoya and have him winning rounds 1-9. Oscar gave away the last three rounds from reasons I don't know, I'm guessing he's gassed.

Anyways, I believe many here in ESB are credible boxing patrons and I would like to ask your opinion on this. Am I right in this interpretation? Thanks...

6-5 and 1 even in favor of Trinidad.

And DeLaHoya should have been deducted points, or been disqualified, for failure to engage. That was one of the most shameful performances I've seen in over 30 years of watching boxing.

Trinidad deserved every bit of that win.

Many people will say that because De La Hoya ran he deserved to lose the fight. What I saw during the 1st 8 rounds was a clear boxing clinic. De La Hoya boxed beautifully during those rounds. The last 4 rounds he pissed away. So, im my opinion De La Hoya won the fight 116-112. But i am so glad tito won, just because De La Hoya was always given the nod in close fights.

I don't give a **** if a fighter runs for the last FIVE rounds. If they win the first seven, and none of the last five are 10-8, the runner wins the ****ing fight. Oscar ran for the last TWO rounds, but the rest of the fight (save for one or two rounds) was a clinic. DLH owned Tito, everyone knows it. You'll never see any scores other than 6-5-1, or something like that for Trinidad. Whereas loads of people scored the fight 8-4 etc. for Oscar. That sums it up.

I am going to be very honest here. I am Puerto Rican and I was Tito's fan. I saw Tito winning by one point just like one of the judges. Sure, I had Tito losing until Oscar gave the last three rounds away. Oscar's fault. He can't do nothing about it now.
I will never know if ODLH gave the three rounds away because he thought he was winning easily. Or, he was afraid Tito's punches were getting to him in the last rounds. However, it was Oscar's fault. Such a big fight you have to fight until the last bell.
One more thing. DLH strategy consisted on stealing the rounds on the last ten seconds. That doesn't work with all judges.

    Haha. Same old score.

What six rounds did Tito win?

11 and 12 are the only clear rounds for Tito. Round 4 was very close, but I gave it to Tito. I often hear people try to claim round 9 for Tito, :rofl. No. Round 10 he has a case, I'll give it to him.

    So 4, 10, 11, 12 at best for me.

The funniest part is... after round 9, one judge had the fight EVEN. It was fixed. No doubt about it.

Maybe not, but neither did DLH. Draw would have been appropriate.

I agree, it was a Don King Brinks job for Tito. I laughed though because Oscar had just received a similar gift against Ike Quartey, so what goes around comes around.

Well I didn't know that Oscar was going to jump on his bike after the 9th round but I can say that going into the 10th round Tito needed a KO to win. Oscar had took basically all of the first 9 rounds. He was boxing beautifully, left, right, jabs, and combination. Tito had no answer for Him.
