Let's clear things up. The post was Whitaker claiming DLH had no punching power not whether or not Whitaker ran in his fights. My point is if he had no punching power why did the p4p #1 fighter in the world fight him so tentatively when he should have closed the show against him? I don't think Whitaker ran against Chavez but I think he did refuse to engage with Hoya and fought that way to stay away rather than engage in "that" particular fight.

he got outlanded by oscar in power punches 2 to 1, and whitaker lost a point in the 3rd round which cost him a 10-8 round.

I think the real question for this thread is......did whitaker do this interview which he was yipped up on yay?

you talking as a fighter or a fan?

    you're a fan...

oscar lost the tito fight - tito didn't win it, did he?

so it shouldn't be a surprise that the best middleweight of modern time owned him.

by the way, this was hopkins' masterclass and one of my favourite fights.

Most "refutable" boxing writers are stuck in 1955.

    so prove them wrong.

this is the beauty of debate.

jjst keep your end open and put yourself on the line so someone can come back at you.

These idiots have clearly never seen the fight only going by what they've been told by Chavez nuthuggers. The truth is Pea outclassed and beat Chavez that night and was the victim of one of the worst robberies in the modern era of boxing.

Whats Pea been up to lately? Is he going to get into training fighters? I remember he was yelling advice at Arturo Gatti from the crowd once.

True, the only thing worse is when posters argue for a draw like Divac.

I try, I have made my case for Pernell Whitaker a few times hear on ESB a few times. It is a chalange to debate against the dogma that some boxing experts fallow.
