your diagnosis of 157-1959 is very interesting.....i believe past his prime he would beat some of them in 1956 and 1957 but by 1958 he would be too far over the hill and one of the young guys would take him(though marciano would never quit)

agreed. marciano and liston were the two big dogs.

 

ur right the public and jim norris clammored for charles who was the # 1 ring magazine rated contender and a big draw. the idea was for marciano to take on valdez in winter of 1955 where he would be a big draw in Miami with the latino crown.

in fact, charles was seen as so dangerous marcianos camp chose roland lastarza to fight over ezzard in 53 because they considered ezzard the more experienced/dangerous fighter.
