    Thanks.

Oh come on. Weight drained or not Cotto was a force at 140. He wouldn't have ammassed the record he did if he wasnt. Hatton never starches Cotto in any universe.

You admit the fact here but leave it totally out of your reasoning process and therfore arrive at a defective conclusion - bad style matchup. Tszyu could probaby beat mitchell as a 50 year old: Mitchell is an elusive stylist and hardly a candidate to expose or capitalise on Tszyu 's ring rust or age. Tszyu will probably able to deliver a performance like that when he's 50 - just load up on the right hand down the middle down the middle when the southpaw comes in after his right - its a move Tszyu has been executing since 14. He only needed his head to win that fight. Jesus use your head - think about it, do you really think a 36 yo old light welter who's been out for three years is going to be prime? Can you name another light welter in history who has been formidable at 36?

That performance against Mitchell masked a lot of things...

I never said he wasn't a force, but I would have backed Hatton to have beaten him.

Based on resume, Cotto struggling to make weight etc etc

the more i look at this fight the closer i think it will be, but i am sure that hatton will grind out a points win i think he will have too much pressure for paulie to be honest, but if paulie won by points i would not be surprised, he aint knocking hatton out

Hatton has a stronger chin than Cotto at 140 - and wouldn't be rocked by those pitty patty punches.

All Malignaggi's performances since then (other than N'Dou I) have been iffy, having received two close/gift decisions IMO.

Horrible fight for Hatton and I think he's past his best as well. I'm going for a cuts stoppage mid-rounds.

    PM tko 7.

    One note of caution........

Hatton may have fired his trainer and his nutrutionist may have left him, but there has been no word on the future of Mick Williamson, who is the world's leading cutsman.

If he has Mick 'The Knife' in his corner, there is more chance of hell freezing over than Hatton losing a fight on cuts.

    Good point.
I still think Hattons ready for a fall though.

Hatton will walk him down, Mayweather was far to skilled and while PM is to, Mayweather had the power to get hattons respect and it eventually was to much for Hatton. Hatton will be able to just keep taking the shots off PM and will eventually break him down.

    TKO 10

Mayweather was capable of frustrating Hatton and also of 'out-dirtying' him on the inside whilst taking body shots either flush or on the elbows.

Whenever N'Dou bothered to get on the inside in the rematch he was making good progress - Hatton is far better at getting off the body shots and mid range punches which are Paulie's nadir!

Hatton could be said to be ready for a big fall, but it will take a special fighter to do that. Paulie is ordinary :deal

Bad analysis. Power/garnering respect had nothing to do with Hattons lost V Floyd. Hatton got knocked out in the end because he was fighting desperately. But that only happened because he was being outboxed and out-strategised. Nothing that Floyd landed on Hatton before the beatdown stated in round 8 could be considered more than a 'pitti pat' punch of the Paulie type.

Paulie has to keep the fighting intermitant by forging locks when Hatton starts to wrestle and use his boxing ability to win the exchanges on the outside. Just like Floyd did. The anti-Hatton blueprint is there, any boxer is free to use it.

Aother thing to note is that Hatton has never fought a world class slickster before besides floyd.

I mean everybody says Hattons allowed to lose that because Floyd is the best - which is true - but the fact remains that Hatton has only fought one good boxer and he got knocked out - by a LIGHT puncher.

Any observer can see that Hattons style is vulnerable to puristic boxing. I'll be interested to see how he does against another one - who is no Floyd, but can still box.

If Hatton beats paulie in America I will actually have a lot more respect for him and will have no qualms admitting it.

I can't understand why anyone would think Hatton is such an Everest.

As far as I'm conscerned, Hatton has fough two A grade opponents -
one of them knocked him out, and the one was so full of mitigating factors its hard to take seriously.

He nearly got knocked out by Collazo, ffs.
