That won't happen again. It could actually be a good fight since both are decent fighters.

Strange considering Mercer weighed 250 pounds. Career high for him.

Wasn't this a majority decision? Anyone got the scores?

Sweden seems to be a nice comfortable place for old American heavyweights to go and carve out a niche and actually believe that they should still be fighting. I'm not being sarcastic either. Rather than fight a contender like Johnson, Bruce Seldon should have gone to Sweden and faced a journeyman or something. Keep winning and keep getting paydays. Not to mention meet some nice Swedish women. :ibutt

It looks very angry. I wouldn't go near it if I were you.

From that website about Boxing that knows the Scene :

    By Per Ake Persson

Former heavyweight champ "Merciless" Ray Mercer had enough left to beat "the Dutch Sonny Liston" Richel Hersisia on a majority decision over six two-minute rounds. It was scored 59-55 for Mercer from two Swedish judges while Belgian Daniel Van de Wiele came up with 57-57. Mercer controlled the action behind a heavy jab in the first rounds and seemed to shake Hersisia in the second. The Dutchman had good spells in the fourth and fifth when Mercer looked every bit a faded 47-year old. In the final round Ray went for the body and Hersisa didn´t like that one bit and with the strong finish Mercer won 58-56 on my card.

If that truly was Mercer's best performance in a while, I think that says it all about how far Ray has fallen over the years.

Ray Mercer in his prime had one of the greatest HW chins of all time, maybe even the best.

Yes, an arguement can be made for Mercer, although in my opinion he comes a close second to McCall.

Yeah, Fraudley wouldn't get up anytime soon if Mercer tapped him, let alone hit him with something huge. :smoke
