Michael Katz is a true old-fashioned warrior and he can go beyond the barrier which defines who's who in the fighting bussiness, but the problem here is all about relentlessness and fighting stance... Wise n Cagey Nate Campbell found the perfect stance and tactics to neutralize Diaz' petrol motion and make him pay every time... Katsidis is going to stay right in front of Diaz in a slugfest and try to prove who can take it harder and tougher - Diaz will have the edge in this sort of game. Great fight in prospect tho.

    thank you for answering. :D

The thing is, inspite of his courage and heart, Katsidis's matador style is tailor-made for Diaz who strives on pressuring his opponents. Kats will be open all night long for those fast combinations, and couple that with his tendency to get easily cut, it would be a massacre!

    Don't matter, Diaz can't punch.

He wins with accumulation and combinations. No way in hell Diaz lands a shot like that.

If you don't have a punch, you don't go right after a slugger. Diaz may win, but he's gonna take some heavy punches.

Well you can look at the mental aspect two ways. I mean Katsidis may not be as affected by that as one may think. Katsidis may be just disappointed that he rushed in and got careless and blew a winnable fight. I mean he was the fighter coming on and had altered the flow of the fight in his favour after a terrible start (as agreed by two of the three judges who had Katsidis ahead). On the other hand Diaz was systematically broken down by Campbell and was taking a beating towards the end, which was I think quite the opposite of what he expected to happen.

Having said that though prior to their losses I would have gone with Diaz and I will still go with Diaz by late stoppage or UD. I do think Katsidis has a chance and the loss last time may make him more determined than before, and if as some people suggest Diaz is looking past Katsidis then there could be a chance of an upset here. I personally hope Katsidis wins, but I feel that Diaz will just be that little bit too good for Katsidis and come through with the win.

Anyways I am putting my Vcash on a Juan Diaz TKO, just for a little gamble here but Diaz should take it either way. Gonna be a goodin

Yeah, I wasn't referring to tonight's fight with that post. That was part of a little back and forth Thunder and I were having about the Casa/Kat fight.

I agree that Diaz is a combination/accumulation puncher. If he does stop Kat it will be from the result of punishment over a period of time, not a one punch KO/TKO. The question probably is which fighter can most effectively inflict their kind of damage on the opponent. Kat can crack, as Casa would surely tell you.

I still have no prediction on this fight.

yeah, I think Katsidis gets him a little later, probably around the 9th or the 10th, but he's gonna surprise alot of folks tonight. Diaz isn't as good as most think, something the Campbell fight illlustrated.

If there is anyone whom Diaz can knock out in one punch, it will be the chinny and defenseless Katsidis.

Katsidis by MD. Most will think Diaz won because he will land 50-100 more punches than Katsidis, but they won't be as telling and Katsidis will bully Diaz around for the second half of the fight.

This is so close to call though that you could see either guy KTFO, or a one sided decision. The only quick ending I see possible is Katsidis going our early, similar as to what almost happened at the beginning of the Casa fight.
