What is this fool on about. FACING A DANGEROUS FIGHTER IN A SPORT LIKE BOXING is not what I would call a huge gamble. He's supposed to face GOOD fighters, what's the ****ing point of facing cans and living off of your own hype. Silly sod. Good for Jorge Rubio, good for the Colombian.
2 Days ago .. Breidis Prescott was regarded as a bum with a padded record, who got took the distance with his only decent opponent. Now he's a "dangerous" fighter!!?!? atsch
especially considering the hype and the money the guy has gotten. It's a travesly. That was what, his 19th fight? he went from fighting domestic level guys with especially low KO ratios to an unknown Colombian...but a guy with a high KO percentage. They must have been confident Prescott had fought real roadsweepers.
i dont think people actually thought prescott was a bum...They just assumed that khan's management team would be smart enough to give him a bum; FAIL
I guess they wanted a guy with a good KO rate to prove the glass chin theory wrong. Might as well have tried to prove you could turn water into wine or that leprechauns exist.
hahaha sky was claiming prescott to be a future world champ, for a moment i was thinking wow khan got beat by a up and coming legend soon woke up thou haha the tricks of sky ey!
A straight up gamble , in the same way Bonecrusher smith was a gamble for Bruno, and Alfonzo Ratliff was for Gary Mason all those years ago.. fortunately Mason did manage to get past the cruiserweight Ratliff to acheive reletive success, but Bruno was completely railroaded at the time, and had to absolutely regroup to get back on track.. That fighter last night , i would have stayed a thousand miles away from, (a south american, unbeaten unknown quantity , with a very high KO ratio, and not a lot of background footage readily on hand to study) I am sorry he would have been the biggest member of my "Who needs em club.."
It's easy to beat limited opponents who are smaller, and can't punch. Most of Khan's previous opponents were super feathers stepping up, either well past their best or never-beens. Prescott was bigger than Khan, and though very limited technically, could punch. Every fight's a gamble when you can't take a punch. This had to happen sooner or later.
