Floyd Jr. and Pernell both made Oscar de la Hoya look like a fool inside those ropes. He couldnt have hit Baby Floyd if I had lent him my ****ing scattergun on Cinco de Mayweather.

^^^ Yes good point - The Ali V Foreman fight is probably the best know example of defensive fighting in history.

I just watched some YouTubes - The first fight Wright V Mosely is an excellent exhibition of defensive prowess - winky switches from defensive stance to throwing combinations so quicky and frequently it sort of looks like a move in itself! Whenever Mosely throws combinations Wright just pins his elbows to his chest and becomes a fortress. Also, SOLIMAN V WRIGHT is about as good a display of defencive skills as you will see; Solimans style was perfect to bring out Winkys defence as he throws 100's of punches per round. Wink throw 1/3rd as man punches as soliman in that fight so to win it his defence must have been good.

    PBF is a defensive master.

Watching old videos of Willy Pep are pretty amazing.

Though I have been accused of hating him Roy Jones Jr. had a very good defense. It was good enough to hardly have a glove laid on him in his career and avoid getting hit on that Glass Jaw.

i disagree. toney has probably seen the canvas on less occasions statistically seeing he's had 81 fights in total - double most careers.

toney, like ali was the master of small movements to slip punches. he's a bit old and fat but imo the most skilled pro today

    toney vs barkley,
i know he's not the greatest opposition but toney really schooled him, especially on the inside, countering with short hooks and uppercuts beautifully,i can watch this over and over again.at one point toney's circling him, hits him with about 8 jabs and gets nothing in return

    whitaker vs ramirez 2
awesome upperbody movement, ramirez couldnt hit him if he was swinging a freaking shovel.there are 2 times sweet pea is in the corner and ramirez is unloading but hitting nothing but air then pernell just strolls out after ducking.the last 2 rounds are especially good for footage.

    mayweather vs jesus chavez
in the later rounds floyd lets him come forward,on the inside he's blocking EVERYTHING and just wrecking him with uppercuts, the punch stats percentages for it were crazy, great countering.

trinidad fight, mosley fights and also against JT.. he's just smiling at tito's combos because his guard is too tight and tito can't place his shots

That video clip displayed more offense from Jones than Defense. Half the clips showed Jones throwing, not defending.

being great at blocking, parrying, rolling...... punches are as much the skills of a defensive genius as much slipping punches. depends on style's as well i guess.
