1 round KO just means a dodgy chin or massive punching opponent, whereas a 12 round beat down means you were outclassed in every single department.
12 round is worse for the heart. If you get KO'd in round 1 you can claim it was a lucky punch and that your body was not warm yet, Yes you lost but you can make some excuses. If you get raped for 12 rounds there is nothing you can say apart from you are not the best and nothing you can do will make you as good that is where it hurts. You have to believe you are the best and you can beat anyone but when you get ripped apart for 12 rounds that mindset has gone
Yeah , I kinda agree with this. To not be able to survive a 36 minute fight. To only last about a minute into a 36 minute fight? That would be quite shameful IMO. And it depends on the schooling. For instance. I wouldnt want to school someone for 12 rounds. That would slightly embarras me. Like calzaghe for instance. to go a whole fight without much of a problem. To go virtually unhit but still cant beat the fight out of someone would embarras me . If I went untouched , and then went on to beat up a guy who is smaller than me, AND could not put him out for the count after a one sided beating I would feel ashamed of myself. It could go both ways. But ko'd in one for me is worse. YOU JUST MADE THE HIGHLITE REEL:deal
you find more in the 12 rounds desire skills stamina no excuse in a 12 round schooling, lacy can never claim he would be beat calzaghe because he would do something different.
Getting schooled for twelve rounds proves that you have heart and quite a chin. Getting KO'ed in the 1st round shows your vulnerability. Look at Jeff Lacy. He was schooled by Joe Calzaghe but still til this day he has not ever been KO'ed. Look at Jaidon Codrington. He was KTFO by Allan Green and then eventually by Sakio Bika. Look at everyone that has been KO'ed in the 1st round. They don't come back stronger than ever. Tye Fields was KOed in the 1st round and then went on fighting jibroni's then finally was 1st round KOed by Monte Barrett. This is just my opinion
Not many guys who suffer early KO's come back as strong. Lennox was KO'd in the second vs McCall yet came back and secured his place among the top 5 heavies ever.
