Boxrec ratings are computer generated, and VERY flawed. Don't go by their system.

they are objective ... they shows level of opposition, PAC fighting the guys like Morales, Barrera, Marquez, Diaz
(and winning) is way above anyone else even most of his opponents were at 130lb.

Now PAC is officially only beholder at 135lb but in terms of the opposition Campbel is below.

I cant believe anyone still takes boxrec's rankings seriously.

Boxrec is only good for finding out fighters records and potential fights coming up.

in general I take BoxRec rankings pretty seriously

There are many exceptions, but in general they are solid.

Since BoxRec does not have a champion system, then of course its entirely normal that Pacquiao is #1 at LW

Think of it this way: Is there any fighter at 135 that Pacquiao would not be favored to beat? the answer is no.

Roach said he is the best so boxrec had to put him no 1

Boxrec is also a British website, so fighters like Calzaghe, Haye, and Hatton inevitably get favoured.

No way should Pac be number one at 135 on the back of the Diaz win. He needs another good win the weight at least.

Pac is overrated and this is just proves it. He beat the weakest title holder and get rated number one.
That is OK, Oscar will beat Pac and it will not going to be even competitive. But now hype surrounding Pac is unbelivable magnitude, some lost in hype fans even giving him chance to beat Oscar.
Mark my words, Oscar will beat Pac easy.

A lot of the editors at boxrec dont like the system, the algorithm is a bit flawed. I dont take them seriously for the most part, the usual suspects are in the right place but you get some pretty random rankings in there.
