I just looked at the rankings and if Haye keeps his word of fighting a top 10 rankedfighter than here are his possibilities: WBO Champ WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO (Sup Champ) UKR Not available fighting Povetkin in November) Interim 1 Alexander Dimitrenko (Int-Cont) UKR (Is just climbing up the stairs, probably won't take the risk) 2 Alexander Povetkin RUS (not available fighting Klitschko november) 3 David Haye GB 4 Chris Arreola USA (Israel Carlos Garcia) 5 Travis Walker USA (had fought this month and won't take the fight on short notice) 6 Vladimir Virchis UKR (fighting Gomez soon) 7 J.D. (bad fighter with blown up record, hardly the topshot haye wanted to face) CHAMPION: SAMUEL PETER (NIGERIA) (fight Vitaly) EMERITUS CHAMPION: VITALY KLITSCHKO (UKRAINE) (fight Peter) WBC INT. CHAMPION: Vacant 1 .- Vladimir Virchis (Ukraine) (fights Gomez) 2 .- Juan Carlos Gomez (Cuba) (Fights Virchis) 3 .- Alexander Dimitrenko (Ukraine) just climbing up, won't take the Hayefight 4 .- Chris Arreola (US) AMERICA (fights Israel Carlos Garcia) 5 .- David Haye (GB) 6 .- Oleg Maskaev (Kazakhstan) (just fought Hawkins) 7 .- Andrew Golota (Poland) (probably Briggs or Valuev) 8 .- This content is protected 9 .- Kali Meehan (New Zealand) (mentioned in a Kingtournement) 10 .- Travis Walker (US) NABF (fought this month, won't take Haye on short notice) The only other serious options next to Monte Barett are:L James Toney Hasim Rahman Kevin Johnson Taras Bidenko (don't see him as any value for Haye) Eddie Chambers Monte Barett This list can be a little longer when King doesn't start that Tournement. It was king of foolish of Hye to show that big mouth of him and saying how he would clean up the division etc cause he has nly a few options for novembersfight and he seems not be able to put the cash where his mouth is. And now he starts telling how the guys won't fight him or ask to much money...
Good post , i heard its Kevin Johnson who is due to fight Haye. But the list shows it was'nt easy to get the ' name ' Haye wanted for his h/w debut.
Ya know at this point, He should just do a Shannon Brings sort of run where he blows through a bunch of jobbers on his way to a title shot. It beats him sitting around trying to pin point a top 10 heavy because that route obviously ain't workin.
According to Betfair you can already bet on a Haye v Oleg Maskaev fight. Maybe they know something we dont
or is that a bet on the chance of them fighting? haye clearly wants to fight a big name...but the big names arent big enough for him. monte barret would of been an excellent opponant. while all the other champs are busy and the top 10 are mingling about.
Did Haye approach Dimitenko??? That fight makes perfect sense. His style is similar to Klitschko(great tune up to fight Wlad) He is the only man ranked in the top ten of each organization If Haye beat him, He would be in a position to fight for any of the 4 belts
Dimitrenko is carefully matched. He already went down to a journeyman so they won't take a risk untill it is necessary (titleshot)
