Good God. So beating Tarver means something, but beating Hopkins, who is ranked higher in the ATG list, is a certified future HoF'er, p4p ranked higher at the time of the fight than JC and had just handed Tarver his ass 2 years previously means nothing? How does that seem logical to you?

I'm sure when Hopkins won the Ring LH belt by beating Tarver, it meant something you. Ditto for when he defended it against Winky.

I don't believe Calzaghe believes in his words and that he finds himself greater than Roy Jones. So he already started the promotion bull but you know what? I hate liars so he could have found something more appropriate to say... But then again, he can't play the bad guy and he can't speak faster or better than Roy or Bernard in their faces... It's all a question of self-confidence and respect towards himself. He respects the other guys more than he respects himself so he can well keep his pretty mouth shut.

Good way to promote the fight, but the comment saying he is better than the Roy of 10 years ago is laughable, i wonder how Roy will react.

Hopkins win over Tarver was a great moment in boxing history, but the fact remains, he never defended the Ring magazine belt against a ranked Lt. Heavyweight. He fought Wright who had never fought above 160 and than he fought Slappy who moved up from SMW. I think both Hopkins and now Calzaghe have a lot more to prove before being considered "The man" at 175.

You still didnt explain to me how you figured out that Woods was more recognised in the USA when Jones fought him compared to Calzaghe........

Come on, it's just about selling tickets and ppv. Calzaghe's always been a big fan of Jones. It's just business. Roy will chime in, I'm sure. And they're both past their primes, over 35 and retiring soon. It's the boxing game: put asses in the ppv seats. Much more interesting is Smazz20's avatar. That's sick. Who is she?

you need to stop posting when you don't have fact , roy tested positive for elevated level of testerones that does not necessarily mean he used steroids.

The are many OTC that can be user to raise testerone level in males and females , if anything Roy's case should be just how far behind boxing is when compared to other sports that test for banded substances...

In any case Calzaghe opted to fight Roy instead of Pavlic which with in his right but he really need to stop pretending like he fighting the best Roy there is , when this version of Roy is 8 years Removed from his personnel best.

Joe will probly win the fight, but there ain't much chance he'll win the trash talkin'.

And there's no way he'd beat Jones 10 yrs ago. That's why he's comin' over now and not back then.

Put me on the RJJ party bus for this one.

It's called fight hype, Jones will pipe up soon you see......as for Pavlik, he has no business calling out 37 year olds and fighting a 43 year old....I bet he gets to keep his MW belts despite only defending them once against one of Bradley Pryce's sparring partners

    why so defensive???

Well, I'm sure his fans believe him. He can talk the talk, but if he could walk the walk, he would be fighting Pavlik or Dawson. :deal

I never said Woods was recognized in the US, but he was a mandatory challenger at Lt. Heavyweight. What don't you understand? Calzaghe was still over there defend his WBO strap in Wales at the time against European creampuffs. He still wasn't the unified champion (as Jones was at 175) and nobody in the States ever heard of him. Again, he wasn't even a Lt. Heavyweight and Woods was. I f he really wanted a piece of Jones he should've moved to 175, made some noise and earn a shot like Tarver did....if he was as great as some of you nuthugging British fans make him out to be, he would've done that.
