Probably not. The fact that it's even up for consideration says enough about the division's poor history though.

You are correct! I think he ducked Cunningham. He said he cleaned up the division but he forgot the corner of the room where Cunningham and Bell stood. So if he fought those fighters I may have an opionion. Holyfield is #1 alltime cruiser.

no. he is far from it. he didn't spend enough time at cruiser and never avenged his ko loss.

Toney's win over Jirov > Haye's CW reign.

Mormeck (prime), Holyfield, and Gomez all belong above Haye IMO. A few others, one example being O'Neil Bell, would certainly be arguable.

Good post TFFP,another fighter you could mention is Yaqui Lopez but I'm not so sure how long he campaigned at cruiserweight, I know he was a lightheavy for some time in his career.

Nope, he didn't accomplish much and got beat by an average fighter.

Haye should crack the top 5. Personally, I think unifying guarantees you a spot in the top 5 because the belts were fractured for so long. Holyfield and Gomez are locks at 1 and 2, Mormeck and Haye both unified so you can throw them in there and regardless of his level of opposition, DeLeon was a 4-time WBC champion so it would be pretty hard not to include him although a case can be made for a handful of other fighters. Jirov, Norris, Qawi, or perhaps Nelson.

Haye won belts off of 2 different fighters so that should safely put him in the top 5. I know it's the quality of the opposition but I'm big on champions beating other champions.

imo what he achieves at HW will have a slight bearing on his status as a CW and might settle him in there

What Haye does at heavyweight has absolutely no bearing on what he accomplished as a cruiserweight. Where is the correlation?

because on top of what he accomplishes i also factor in how good he was at CW. What Haye accomplishes at HW can give a good idea of how good Haye really was as a CW.
