That's because in terms of accomplishments Mayweather is FAR ahead of Margarito and whoever worth mentioning he beat and the FIVE he lost to. I'm not the one bringing Mayweather into every discussion, unlike you. :deal

If Margarito has two prime WW's to brag about in his record then there are many more who have accomplished WAY more and aren't even considered legends, yet you consider Margarito a legend. I asked you a simple question man, you say he isn't ducking him, what do you say about the recent stuff going on regarding both guys fighting and Margarito's already determined plan to fight an unknown next then a rematch with Cotto instead of Paul Williams(A man that beat him) instead?, if that's not ducking then what do you call it?. I mean, Mayweather refusing to fight an unaccomplished Margarito at the time for an available lineal champion in Baldomir then a FAR BIGGER(in terms of money AND legacy) fight in DLH with Hatton right after it. That's ducking to you but what Margarito is doing now isn't ducking?

If making me feel better doesn't make me happy then I don't know what does.

Margarito has only really emerged as a star since Mayweather's last fight.

At the time Floyd was selecting his opponents, Baldomir was the linear champion (and but for a refusal to pay fees would have been WBA/WBC/IBF as well) - and was a more natural choice than Margarito.

De La Hoya was a mega fight - ok the 12 rounds weren't great, but if you were offered a DLH fight and a chance to make history plus a shitload of cash, you would have taken it :deal

Hatton was the linear 140lb champ - a fighter who had been earmarked as a potential opponent since 2005, and had a style that Floyd had yet to conquer (don't mention Gatti - idiots). He had also destroyed Castillo (ok past peak version) - whom Floyd had failed to make a dent in over 24 rounds. Ricky also brings the money through the British travelling fans and Sky PPV money.

In the meantime between DLH and Hatton, Margarito lost to Williams, who wasn't quite an unknown but hardly a household name. It could also be said that five people had beaten Tony, so why the **** should Floyd bother?

My take - it would have been (and still could be) an excellent fight, great clash of styles and personalities - and the money now would give Floyd multiple orgasms.

To me, Floyd has accomplished everything he feels he can achieve, made his money, then lost motivation and got out. Nothing wrong with that IMO - it is his bleating about being the best fighter ever that pisses people off.

When Mayweather was a new Welterweight, Margarito was hardly worthy of a major fight. Yeah he was worthy as an opponent but as a PPV main event?, the answer is no especially when there is a #1 fighter out there who wasn't Margarito. Don't blame Floyd for that, blame Margarito.

If Floyd had 5 losses and never attempted to even TRY and avenge one then you guys would be all over his ass. But since it's Margarito then sure, he gets a pass. Sadly, history won't give him a pass and the legacy seeking mammoth you jerk off to day and night will have his losses mentioned and why he never attempted to avenge ANY.

When was Cotto officially announced as ready for Mayweather when he moved up to Welterweight?, that was when he beat Mosley and when Mayweather was in discussions to set up a fight with Hatton. Pure fail there since Cotto wasn't even a Welterweight when he moved there and was just announced as "ready" when Mayweather was on his way out.

Margarito's case is popular, whether when Mayweather first made his move there or not. When he first made it there, Judah was the undisputed champion and dropped that to Baldomir, Margarito had one half decent win over Cintron, it's pretty easy to choose who the public wanted to see him fight, anyone that says Margarito over undisputed champion Judah or Baldomir is an idiot because as far as I remember everyone wanted him to fight Baldomir. If you're talking about Mayweather in his last year, Margarito already lost to Williams then and mentioning Margarito over Williams at that point proves the nuthugging troll within you.

Sorry Bro.. Mayweather TRULY retired when MArgo/ Cotto fight was made and he KNEW he would forced to fight the winner..

He was asked about Cotto, (since he REFUSED to fight Margo) after the Hatton fight, saying he wasnt calling out any welters. and had nothing to prove ...?(MAYBE NOT A JW ) he was in talks with Dela about a rematch and there have been rumours recently that talks about he may rematch Hatton in 09 if Hatton beats Paulie

so I dont wanna hear it, you make the lamest excuses.. ALL THE TIME..

its SAD..no for Floyd to diss Cotto and Margo at WW and fight the scrubs he did....especially Hatton at WW.. its a joke my friend..

27.03.08 Hatton v Mayweather 2 in the works

Richard Schaefer lets the cat out of the bag:-

Ricky Hatton's dream of meeting Floyd Mayweather for a second time moved a step closer on Thursday when it was revealed the American is considering a rematch at Wembley in spring next year.

Mayweather won the first contest with a 10th-round stoppage in Las Vegas last December but Hatton feels referee Joe Cortez contributed to the only defeat on his 44-fight record.

In reality, Mayweather was comfortably superior throughout the contest and Hatton showed little to suggest a second meeting would provide a different outcome.

The Mancunian's next assignment is against Mexican Juan Lazcano on May 24 while Mayweather is scheduled to resume his rivalry with Oscar De La Hoya on September 20.

But Richard Schaefer, the chief executive of Golden Boy promotions, revealed on Thursday that discussions over luring Mayweather to London have already begun.

"It's very likely that Floyd will come over next spring. Floyd and his manager Al Hayman are very serious about it," said Schaefer.

"The first fight was great and while Floyd would have to get past Oscar first, he knows that Ricky has talked about the referee.

"He wants to show that he will repeat what happened the first time. That's his motivation.

"Floyd realises that Hatton is the most beloved fighter in the world and for him to come over to Wembley Stadium is making history.

"For Ricky it's about challenges and it's the same for Floyd. Fighting in front of 100,000 fans would be huge motivation for Floyd."
