If RJJ retired after Ruiz where ATG ?

He would be rated even higher, not by much, although hes still very very high. An ATG for sure.

 

Pretty damn high. He lost nary a round up through that fight. Then it fell apart because he dropped down in weight. Stupid move. :rofl

 

Lots of questions would have been asked about his potential had he continued...but in the end i think he'd have been better off with those questions being asked than the unforgettable demise of his P4P reign.

Either way, when he's retired for good, he'll be remembered as great. Our generation will never forget him, he will live on.

 

Alot of analysts had him right outside the top 10 or right inside the top 10 and people have him anywhere from 20-50 (espn list worst ever). I think he is still top15-20 because of how dominating he was over a long period of time. Nobody has dominated compition like RJJ barely losing rounds in that period. YA'LL MUST HAVE FORGOT

 

I wouldn't have him much higher if he had retired after the Ruiz fight... a bit maybe just because all of those questions everyone would ask and he would still seem unbeatable. Still though seeing him in this state makes me remember of a different fighter altogether.

RJJ should have called it right then and there, but he let tarver's rants
get him back down to lightheavy, and the rest is history. Roy might have gone down as the GOAT or in the top 10 at least ATG if he had've

I wish he would of retired, he probably wouldn't crack Top 10, but history would of been very kind to him overall I think when you went back and watched his body of work.

Prime Roy probably could of beaten any SMW in history, and had a great to good chance of beating anyone in LHW history.

No, definitely not top 10 in greatness, but I would rate him over Spinks as a ATG.

 

Bob Foster vs Roy Jones Jr prime for prime would of been huge.

I just don't think Bob would of landed the big shot though.

I think Jones had a style that would of beaten a lot of the old time fighters, his speed and quickness and reflexes during his prime were just unreal.

SRR vs RJJ I think is the greatest Fantasy Fight of all time.

 

Jones H2H is one of the top 5 fighters ever.....

All time lists he rates somewhere in the mid 20's to early 30's for me. If I take away the Tarver losses and Johnson loss, I would only move him to the low 20's to the mid 20's.

 

Don't start....his resume is better than Pacman's and you push him constantly. That "cans" argument is wrong on so many levels. Like I have always said....name them. For every one you name I can name 3-4 top 10 fighters or champions on his resume (after of course the "prospect process" where you fight nobodies....everyone does that)
