Are Vitali's Arms Smaller Than They Were In '04?

Like many of you, I've been following the upcoming V. Klitschko-Peter clash with great interest. I was and still am a Klitschko fan. However, while I was initially excited about Klitschko's decision to return in '07, I am now having my concerns. Specifically, my concerns pertain to the long layoff, the inevitable ring rust, and whether or not he can return his body to the fighting shape it was in when he was training for Rahman. Judging by the training camp photos that were recently released, Klitschko has not let him self go as so many fighters are prone to doing. Therefore, I think it's unlikely that he'll weigh in over his typical fighting weight (245-250 lbs.). However, I still have serious concerns in regard to his muscle mass or, rather, the lack thereof as I perceive it. To me, in the recent photos, which can be viewed on the Klitschko website (http://www.klitschko.com/eng/pics-vitali.html) Klitschko's arms appear markedly smaller in size than they did a couple of years ago. Obviously, I don't know what his current measurements are, but, if I'm not mistaken, Klitschko once had a reputation for having bicep measurements and forearm measurements that were virtually identical. This is very rare. Put simply, the man had massive arms and there was minimal tapering from upper arm to lower arm. So, while he was known for throwing a lot of "arm punches," his arm punches weren't like those of fighters because there was an above-average amount of weight behind them. If the muscle mass in his arms has indeed diminished during the long layoff, it will be interesting to see what effect this might have on his punching power and, by extension, the fight. Does anyone else see what I see?

I wouldn't worry about the size of his arms.

Larry Merchant will add another great quote on Oct.11th.
His first great quote from a Vitali fight was the Johnson fight; "That whale was just HARPOONED!"

This fight will be something along the lines of; "Klitschko just ravaged that hawaiian monk seal"

It look like, probably they cut his arms by mistake when they tried to fix his knee.
Its not surprising with so large body the doctors are confused and cut whatever they can :-(

Yeah in those workout pics his arms look smaller.

I dont remember them looking smaller in other recent pics though.

I know Wlad lost some muscle mass after he switched trainers to Steward. Vit kept their original trainer for his fights though. Does anyone know who Vit is training under for this match?

Vitali always had less muscle mass than his smaller brother.
