Do you think it will be more of the same between the two fighters at their new weight of 135 or did you see something in their last fights (respectively) that will change the dynamics of their third fight? Did Pac's power diminish? -Did Marquez take a better punch?

    Interested in your thoughts. :good

I think Marquez becomes a stronger fighter while Pacquiao loses some speed.

More of the same. Marquez's butt will kiss the canvass again and he will whine and will travel to the Phils uninvited to beg for a rematch claiming he won. :D

It would still be a competitive, close fight, like their two previous fights.

Their contrasting styles, and JMM's man-love for knock downs, will always make this fight a good one.

Pac seems more comfortable and so does JMM. Pac's power is still there, and yes he slowed down a bit. But my question is, will JMM's chin hold up in their new weight class?

They will always give each other problems, but Marquez is getting older. If this fight happens a year later, I see PAc finally stopping Marquez. If it happens now, it is a close fight where either man can win. I have their fights 1-1 PAc winning by a point in fight 1, and Marquez winning by 2 in the rematch.

Good answers. I think Pac's speed is still there but I think he is a bit more reluctant to go balls out with his punches. He's becoming a better boxer now and might make the mistake against Marquez in thinking that his blitzkrieg should be replaced by outboxing Marquez. Marquez might have a better chin at a higher weight. He took some flush left hooks against Casamayor very well. But taking Manny's left hand is different. I still see Pac winning because as one poster commented Marquez hits the floor and upsets the balance of a close fight with a given two points in the other direction. As to 135 Marquez fought the better fighter and boxed beautifully while Manny took longer than usual to knock out an inferior fighter that he dominated from the get go.

Well it's still a 50/50 fight for me . . . but basing it on their movements in their last fight . . . it looks like Pac took the additional poundage better. He move and BOXED well and with confidence.

Will be the same outcome as the prev 2, close and controversial.

These 2 are the best of the pack at 126 to 135.

What many people do not seem to notice about JMM is his incredible handspeed and I think this (and his great conditioning and stamina) is really why Pac can not dominate him.

I've pointed this out many times, Pac is a little quicker getting off a single shot......but JMM's combination speed is at another level above Pac's.

JMM's combination speed is at another level, and his stamina imo is as good as any fighter today.
.....as long as JMM is able to mantain the level of speed and stamina he showed vs Casamayor, he's going to beat Pac everytime.

The higher the weight they fight, the more the edge goes to the master boxer.
As you go up in weight, a fighter does'nt lose skill, but he frequently loses power.

The fight likely does'nt happen anyways, and its just as well.....even without knockdown, I'm convinced that JMM likely gets screwed, as long as Pac is able to put up 4 rounds of competitiveness.

My wish for JMM to close his career is to unify at 135 lbs, and if Hatton is still at the top late 2009 at 140 lbs.......what a way to call it a career with a victory over Ricky Hatton for the big payday JMM truly deserves.

Truly, I'd rather a 3rd fight with Pac not take place. I felt sick the other day reading Pac's comments about another fight with JMM, "anytime, anywhere, but under his financial conditions." :barf :nut

JMM's legacy will shine just fine without the official books not showing a W on the column vs Pac.
    Thank God for video!!!:deal :yep

Good post. Though I agree mostly with everything you said, especially about Marquez' combos, I have to say if Marquez would have fought either fight without getting knocked down than then he would be the winner without any argument from anyone. But two points is two points, and in the first fight six points, and damn, it takes a lot to come back from that, no matter how good you look afterward.

i doubt marquez can beat pac at any weight.....although it would be competitive but.....pac's just better then marquez, even if the margin is razor thin

Pac already won over Marquez twice. The first time only became a draw because of a scoring guffaw by a judge which admitted to the fault. I'd love for them to fight the third time, but there are lots of other megafights out there for Pac. Hatton, Mayweather Jr., Cotto, Valuev :smoke

JMM should be thankful Pacman made him a legend, I hope he gets to fight Valero or Guzman.
