..jack munroe knocked jeffries down in an exhibition match. jeffries claimed his legs were crossed and he merely tripped. this was good enough to get munroe a shot at the title though, in which he was knocked out in four. wasn't jeffries knocked down in the johnson fight? marciano was knocked down only twice in his career...walcott 1 and archie moore...not several times as has been posted here. danny lopez was incredible!!!
And what kind of opponents did Vitali fight? Jeffries career is much more impressive and far the superior to Vitali´s.
Floyd Patterson went down a fair amount but was very difficult to stop. Nigel Benn is another one went down got hurt fairly often but hard to stop and always dangerous.
I'm not sure if Whitaker was "easy" to drop, but he took some spills against Mayweather, McGirt, Vasquez, Hurtado, Trinidad....yet was never stopped until he had that injury in his last fight.
Charley Burley was dropped in his career but never stopped, not even on cuts, in 98 fights and he was in with some decent punchers. Ezzard Charles went down often but stopping him was no easy feat...until he was shot, of course. I've read that Dempsey was put to the floor 9 times against Sunderlin(?) in an early bout but still knocked the guy out in 4 rounds or so. He was dropped quite a few times in his early years but never stopped until Flynn turned the trick.
