That's true, but I'd say the safer bet is to wait for the next guy. Once he beats Lucero, he'll fight someone a step up- and that's when I'd set the Tivo if I were you
You're absolutely right. But like IB said, he's likely to get starched again SO soon that he probably won't be able to cash in too much before he does indeed get "flushed down the toliet!"
I'd put the over/under at 3 fights for that. What's maddening from a boxing angle is that the kid has potential if he didn't look to be untrainable when defense comes into the equation. I do think he makes for entertaining fights, though...and when we're talking Friday Night Fights, that's about as much as I'll ask for. I always get a kick out of the Litzau threads around fight time, win or lose, just because it's never boring to see reasonable posters show their disdain in creative ways.
I dont mind the kid, he is hell fun to watch. I never expected a lot from him and wasnt that suprised that he got Ko'd. His chin is real bad but its no the kind of blown out in the 30secs bad from what Ive seen. Litzau had taken a lot of shots in all the fights Ive watched of him and has only been beaten once.
Litzau is a ****ing bum I said it a two years ago when ESB was riding the ESPN hype train. He is this...he is like a illusion. He dances around the ring and throws a lot of punches. So, to the casual boxing fan they are not used to seeing a white fighter do this(no offense at all but true) so they dick ride litzau b/c he has the illusion of a good boxer. But he has no defense, accuracy, or power. Basically he sucks ass. He is a flashy nothing of a boxer. I said this 2 years ago.
Thing is, none of those fights were against world-class opposition, or even close. He gets put to sleep very early by a Juarez or Barrios caliber fighter, let alone a Pacquiao or Valero
Woah woah slow down. Im telling ya mate my opinion of him is that Litzau is an ESPN fighter at best and thats all I ever expected of him. Of course those guys would crush him, its the just below fringe contenders that he will win some and loose some to. And they will be some good fights to see.
Maybe having a glass jaw accelerates that sort of deterioration! :hey Whatever the reason, it's just another sign that this kid has chosen the WRONG line of work.:yep
total knob, can't wait to see someone land on his chin again....I dunno if he's punchdrunk or just really thick.
I remember fighting him when he was an amateur. I beat him then. I just remeber when I applied alot of pressure he couldnt take it.
I don't have a problem with Litzau he's usually in exciting fights. It's not like they are trying to put this guy on PPV or something.
