Let's face it, up to now, Williams' claim to fame is giving a good account of himself against Margarito. He has done nothing impressive before or since that fight. PW may have Margarito's number, or he might've just had a lucky night, as far as I'm concerned he is being overrated, the burden of proof is still on him!
A good account of himself? He did more than that, he won the fight. And knocking out Quintana in 1 round isn't impressive? Williams is a pretty good fighter. The other Welters must not believe that he's overrated Because they sure as hell aren't lining up to fight him.
You can't starve yourself and make it in boxing. You either can fight or you can't. He probably saw that he could not succeed at a higher weight and went to the best weight for him. He did not weigh over 156 for the Quintana rematch. It might be an upset depending on how good his opponent is.
I think you're going overboard. It took Andre Ward 6 rounds to finish off this guy. He's pretty big(6 '1) and durable. Williams should win. However, no one should be expecting him to win in under 3 rounds.
Was Quintana lucky to beat Williams? Williams has no claim to fame. He beat AM. He also beat Quintana who out boxed him. Losing happens in this sport. The greats are able to over come men who beat them. He is still young so when he starts to wind down his career then he'll have a claim to fame fight...
I would be a little surprised as Williams hasnt campaigned at 160 in some time. Now he's a name with a target on him and he's going against a decent contender out to ruin him. I am curious as to how Williams will approach this fight.....with caution or balls to the wall?
AM fans will be rooting for Williams to lose so that they can discredit him and promote AM to superstar status and say, "See I told you Williams wasn't that good" lol...
