The definitive PBF and Margarito thread to end all threads

He didn't chase anybody outta ****. PBF retired on his own terms no one elses. Hell he turned down another big payday to face Oscar. He's board with the sport and had accomplished everything he wanted in the sport.

 

Yes he SHOULD avenge his losses or at least ATTEMPT to if he wants greatness, last I remember he's being promoted as the legacy seeking mammoth who doesn't give a damn about money but wants greatness.

Well here are facts, usually when analyzing a fighter who wants to seek greatness they look at his losses and if he attempted to avenge them. Those questions will ALWAYS be raised in the long run and you know it. If Ali didn't rematch Frazier or Norton what do you think would have been said about his record?, same applies to ALL fighters. If he at least attempted to avenge that and lost then sure we'll move on with them even though in the long run people that want to rate him WON'T pass on those. If it was Mayweather holding as many losses and not attempting to avenge not even one then we would see threads after another about them.

Yes I did see BOTH fights, as close as the 2nd one was Santos was ahead on points and the headbutt is what caused them to go to the scorecards with Santos winning. That's a part of the rules of boxing, this is like saying Clottey doesn't deserve his win over Judah recently.

I'm not making a big deal out of it because I want to, I'm making a big deal out of it because it's a LOSS. If we don't make big deals in boxing about losses what will we make big deals about anyway?, trash talking?, media hype?

 

Sadly Lance Mayweather retired after Margarito already lost to Williams, so the claims about Margarito were long expired by the time he retired with the same haters using Paul Williams and Miguel Cotto instead.

 

It's not just that thing kmacc619. These guys have brought all sort of arguments to knock Tony down and keep him away from PBF - first, he was Baldo's clone so there was no reason for Margo to face Floyd b'cause Floyd already had faced Baldo; then, Margo is not in the finantial plateau Floyd is so there was no way business could be made; and now that Floyd ran away from everyone, Tony has to move up to LHWT or else, he is a coward... This has gone too far - Floyd fans = Margo haters, nothing more, nothing less.

 

If Margarito is a ***** then what does that make Mayweather?

When was Cotto officially announced as ready for Mayweather?, remind me of that dumbass.

It was after he beat Shane Mosley, his very first serious test and before that fight is when his team and everyone around him said that if he gets through it they want Mayweather next. Mayweather at the time was already scheduled to fight Hatton and retired after that fight. It's after his retirement was official that the talks increased because your bedroom hero Margarito was out of the discussion after his loss to Williams.

I never implied Santo's win wasn't legit. Of course it was. I'm saying it's not that big a deal considering the circumstances.

When Margarito is the ONLY boxer left to not avenge a loss, let me know. THEN we can make a big deal out of it.

As for you part on greatness, mentioning Frazier and Ali... Dude.... Don't mention Margarito along side them unless you think he belongs. Anyway, no one talks about Margaito being the best @ WW all time. So who cares about that discussion.

 

But it's all good to bash PBF to your hearts content? The same could be said about Margo fans. BTW what you described in your little scenario is exactly what PBF did he went from 130, 135, 140 147 and 154 facing bigger men.
