He was incredibly rusty in the Tyson fight. He was coming off a 2 year lay off, having lost his last two fights and he was also 38 years old.
Also remember he was fighting a prime Tyson, and he still lasted four rounds.

Larry Holmes - when he signed for that fight - he knew he had not a hope in hell of winning.

He didnt openly say it at the time of the fight - but he knew he was gonna get knocked the **** out.

He took the fight for his beloved $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

"Make me Bill Gates and I will be a happy man" - Holmes once said.

He was a businessman first and foremost.

    A professional boxer secondly.

Everybody told Larry Holmes that Don King was ripping him off.

    Holmes responded with

"Don King has made me millions - so tell him to please keep ripping me off"

Holmes was one of the few fighters that Don King actually gave a **** about.

When Tyson knocked him into dreamland out on his back.

It was Don King who rushed over to the stricken Holmes to see if he was alright - very concerned for Larry and wanted him to be safe and well.

In contrast to that King was celebrating with Nigel Benn while his losing fighter Gerald McCllenan who he come over on the plane with procliaming him the "mini Mike Tyson" was slipping into a Coma. King didnt give a **** for him.

The only other fighter I have seen King show personal care for is Felix Trinidad and his family.

    Battle of the jabs!

    Very close fight.

I'll go with Holmes via tight UD.
