Correct. Abraham struggles with stick-and-move style fighters. Like Ayala. Marquez isn't going to be this kind of fighter.

 

Yeah the king can box very well. Has a great defense and good ko power.

 

Marquez is long past his best, and even in his prime he wouldn't have beaten Abraham. He cuts from dirty looks, and swells just as easily. Don't forget, Marquez got beat up by Yori Boy Campas about ten years ago. He certainly hasn't gotten any better since.

 

Problem is: which top fighter don't want to **** up that shell?

As I said a few times in the past, I see Taylor and Kessler giving AA the biggest of problems.

More so Taylor, as he was kinda exposed vs. Pavlik in the first fight and now fights a lot more tentative/cool headed. Maybe I'll even add Bute to this list after his fight vs. Andrade... :think

I read an interview from Marquez right before he left Texas for Germany. He sounds like he is jacked to the moon. However, being pumped up and highly motivated is not enough to beat AA. Just ask Miranda!

In addition, in the fight before Lorenzo, Raul fought a draw with Bronco McKart. Now if you're a young prospect with 15 fights, a draw with McKart is a good deal. If you're buildiing up to a title fight with Arthur ..... eh .... not so good!

 

Kessler would give anyone problem. However, Taylor gets koed by King AA.

 

As probably everybody knows I am a big fan of AA and with this bias I don't know any fighter in the (super)middleweight who would beat AA for sure. IMO AA has a good chance against anybody in both classes. He's of course beatable, but you need a very good game plan to accomplish this task. All aggressive fighters will fail against him, because his defense is very solid, he can take punches, has a solid chin and an iron will. Kessler may be a bad choice as well as Taylor, but in the end they also have to work very concentrated all 12 rounds long, because one mistake can be one too much.

 

He has the best one punch power at 160 and standing in front of him is suicide.

 

man Marquez was supposed to be a gimme fight for Lorenzo to get a title shot. Imagine what Abraham will do to him. These guys aren't even on the same level. Styles make fights but styles have nothing to do with this fight, Marquez is getting ktfo

Marquez is pretty well toast, he just got served up a prospect who wasn't as good as his hype. Abraham should be able to win on cuts in the mid-rounds. Fight's in Germany, and Marquez cuts on the first punch that lands, so I suspect the ref will jump in early at some point and stop the fight.

And Marquez is American, not Mexican, FWIW. He might have been born in Mexico, but he was raised in the US and fought on the US olympic team.

Marquez won the McKart fight, it was just bad judging. He's still a class below the top guys though, and always has been.
