Nah, I think winning the 11th took almost everything Mayorga had left...he went into 12 looking to survive, and didn't.

Firstly: Yes, professional judges DO give out even rounds. There was one fight in history where a judge scored all but one round even in some title fight, or something crazy like that. I'm sure a classic member could help me out here.

Secondly: Even if you were right, which you're not, the thread was asking for fans scorecards. :good

You know when harold lederman gives his same ****ing rant at the beginning of every fight? Do you what he says about the judges scoring in that rant? take a listen again.
Unless licensed under unique commission guideline, there are no even rounds, or at least they have become exceedingly rare in pro fighting

"Judge Charles Minker of Las Vegas scored the fight 144-141 for Minter, giving him nine rounds with one a draw. Ladaslad Sanchez of Venezuela scored it for Antuofermo, 145-143, with four rounds even, while Judge Roland Dakin of England had it 149-137, giving all but one round, the 14th, to his countryman, with one round even."

Tell these 3 professional judges that.

    Judges had it split:

    107-102 and 105-104 for Mosley

    and

    105-104 for Mayorga.

This isn't the point of my response anyways. The point is he asked how could a fight be scored even, in a thread of scoring by fans. This could happen by scoring a fight even, which is practiced by nearly every fan & many judges throughout history.

ok, you have a point that fans and even judges in the past have scored even rounds, but they are becoming more and more infrequent in the pros today.
So yes, I take it back, you are correct, it is possible to score the round a tie, I will concede that.

It's tacky and shouldn't be done; shouldn't be considered except in the most extreme of extenuating circumstances...even by armchair scorers.

The overwhelming majority of pro boxing judges refrain from doing it; I see no reason why boxing fans who lack that responsibility should feel obliged to take the easy, lazy way out just because they're not in the hot seat ringside.

You know, I have trouble with this issue myself...I try to refrain from splitting rounds evenly for the most part, but I try to keep from doing it altogether in a championship fight.

If I wasn't trying to keep with tradition, I would have actually scored one or more rounds even...I do think it's appropriate at times though.
