The promoters and handlers of Paul Williams have said that on HBO's Boxing
After Dark (BAD), Williams will be fighting. However, it is still undetermined who his opponent will be. If he fights at 147, it will be in defense of his WBO WW title. Michael Jennings of England is his WBO mandatory challenger. On BoxScene today, it has been reported that Joshua Clottey would like to fight Williams in a welterweight unification title bout. Finally, there is the option of fighting at 154 for a jr middleweight title against Verno Phillips.

So, vote in the poll and suggest who should fight Williams next.

Probably some other no name tomato can which for the most part has been the norm for building him up. Check out his pro boxing record.
You see he has been fed a steady diet of those kind of opponents.

Joshua Clottey.. Williams is getting no answer from Margo.. He's without a fight, Clottey has called him out, and there should be no reason to decline..

Paul's resume ain't the best in the world, but I do know one world-class fighter he whipped, and wants desperately to do it again...

But at this point, he needs to move on and fight Clottey or Cintron.

I'd be fine with any of those, except Mr. Jennings.

I would like to see Williams take on another guy who beat Margarito in Daniel Santos,to me that's a 50/50 fight.

Doubtful Santos would decline a big fight. Since he just got a belt and is a main player again.

It's a little funny how Goosen kept saying he made offers to all the top WW's and NONE wanted williams. Obviously he never made one to Clottey. And since Shane had a fight, highly doubtful he made Shane or Mayorga an offer. Did he make an offer to Berto as well? Considering he JUST had his fight as well, doubtful. Cintron has a fight signed too, so who knows if they tried to make that.

I guess by EVERYONE, he means Margarito. Goosen is like a third rate Arum. Not as original, only 1/6th the money and 1/10th the pull.

Shane was offered a fight. He turned it down. There's no reason to make Mayorga an offer. Mayorga is not a welter and he's a joke. An offer to Berto is also pointless considering Berto and Williams have the same manager and considering they still haven't taken the training wheels off Berto. You mention Cintron, but it's well known that they signed to fight Cintron last Feb. Cintron pulled out and declinded to reschedule. They also pushed for a fight with Cotto after the Margo fight. Colllazo also passed on a Nov. fight in order to fight Berto. Clottey is really the only notable welter that they haven't mentioned/and or tried to fight.

When was Shane offered a fight w/ Williams? He was going to fight Judah then went to Mayorga after Judah ****ed up remember.

I do remember the whole Cintron fiasco. But that was a year ago. Is Goosen banking on old offers made or something? But it's doubtful Cintron takes it anyway.

Dude..."They pushed for a fight w/ Cotto AFTER the margarito fight..." What kind of **** is that Reg? That's Goosen's bull****. Dude got KO'd. :patsch Who the **** makes an offer to a guy KO'd then brags about them not taking it?

Whether you or I (and I do) think a fight w/ Berto is pointless, when Goosen says he offered EVERYBODY @ WW a fight, well, maybe you'll take that with a grain of salt.

At least when Arum was pulling that **** w/ margarito, he could name WHO he made offers to. Not this vague "everyone" comment.
