So when is he gonna turn pro?He was a good amateur and he was suppose to turn pro on that Zbik and Kentikian card a few months ago according to boxrec in Dusseldorf but it didn't happen.Any news?
This is what i found on another site, hope this helps.. Sturm, who was born Adnan Catic to Bosnian parents, changed his name to Felix (Happy Man) Sturm (Storm) because, they couldnt remember my real name in Germany, so it was easier to make a nickname.
Sounds like an excuse for, 'I changed my name for marketability purposes, no one wanted to see Adnan Catic fight so I changed my name to a more German sounding one'
Uhhhh...no. That fight was made to set up the DLH/Hopkins megafight. Anyone of any nationality would have lost that night unless they managed to KO the Golden Prag.
Redefining your name to suit the language of your adopted country is a tradition as old as the hills and there's nothing wrong with it at all.
because he thought that if u r name is felix u automatic beat de la hoya which it worked for him but did not get the decision
That's what's appearing in his record officially. :deal As to him being an american . . . nationality doesn't really matter. His problem is himself not willing to fight other ranked fighters outside of Germany.
Marketing reasons. They want people to thinh that he is a german in order to attract better TV numbers.
michalczewski doesn't sound too german, does it? yea, like they're using their original names in the states, right? it's just transliteration.
BS post. The Klitschkos always went under their real names in Germany, as did Michaelchewski. Sturm was born and raised and Germany and has the German citizenship, how can´t he be German? Abraham lives since nearly 10 years here and has adopted German citizenship. Why is this a bad thing with German but not with other states? :-(
True. That's why we don't have problems with foreign names. So IMO there is no need to change your name. What's wrong with Adnan Katic? That's really easy to spell. Your name connects you to your roots. I would never change it.
