Just want to Know and get this of my chest

I like both Margo and Cotto but i honestly wanted and thought cotto was going to win by UD(NOT TKO or KO) because i simply felt that what cotto was doing in the first 5/6 rounds(pretty much outboxing him), he was going to keep that up for the whole 12. BUT, ultimately What lampley said right before the 2nd knockdown summarized it all; the punishment had accumulated to the point where cotto had nothing left.

 

I overestimated Cotto's chin, stamina and his ring IQ. If he had a better chin and would have tied up Margo more he would have won IMO. He made alot of rookie mistakes in that fight.

 

I thought Cotto was going to box and jab all night and win a close UD, I was surprised that his pride didn't let him clinch and change directions he just stayed on the ropes, and didn't clinch at all. What can you do you win some and lose some

 

Cotto can't take a good shot. I should have realized this after seeing him in against Corley, Torres and Judah all of which had him badly hurt. He also fought a dumb fight no tieing up when hurt or to break up Margo's rhythm. Another thing he threw too many power shots and neglected the body completly. I think after he saw he couldn't hurt Margo he really had no plan B it was only a matter of time since he was fighting in a style he knew he couldn't keep up for long.

 

Because I thought Cotto would simply outbox Margo and trade only when needed but he lacked the stamina to do this for 12 rounds. Like I said earlier I overestimated his stamina.

Cotto will get his ass beat to sleep AGAIN if he takes this rematch!

Do not lose your chips on this one! Margarito is too relentless and Cotto just doesn't have the chin. I know Cotto could have fought a different fight, but the results would have been the same. Cotto couldn't stay off the ropes because Margo was too big and too strong for Cotto to keep in the middle of the ring.

This rematch is a waste of time, but I will be watching...
