Now Haye has to KO Barrett the same way Barrett KO Tye Fields. He put himself in a hole by calling him a journeyman.

Was going to say the same thing, but I don't think I had any respect for him to begin with.

Wlad's an old-school gentleman that behaves in all situations with
class and dignity. Part of that ethos involves having respect for
others and not disrespecting them in word or deed. He does his
talking in the ring. He will never act the fool like the likes of
Haye for a few dollars more.

You may get your wish before that. With Haye's suspect chin, I frankly doubt he'll make it to Klitschko unless he faces nothing but light-hitting stiffs.

Haye KO Barret inside 4 rounds
Haye KO Wlad inside 6 rounds

    I completely agree with you.

The point is, Barett is not a top 10 contender. After all his talk we all expected him to take on a tougher test. Haye himself said that he has to be a top 10 heavyweight. Well, it was not the case.

Now, we all know that his talk was hype. Too many people have been going over board with his guy. He has certainky a great amount of talent but he has also everything to prove. This is far different from Toney's talk when Toney came up to heavyweight as he already was a HOF lock. And he took on number 5 ranked (by the RING) and former champ holyfield.

Even as a fan you got to agree with him. I mean you can be a fan of someone wthout approving everything he does

Haye should just keep his mouth shut, he doesn't do himself a favour. What if he only wins a close decision against this 'journeyman'? The possibility is always there...

Is the guy above him still alive? You have to check with the WBO and their super credible rankings.

I hope Haye drops some of the smack talk now. Ask any UK fight fan and they will tell you that he NEVER did this until literally after the Mac fight.

I am sure it was a calculated tactic to stir up interest in the US and it has worked. It doesn't matter how many Americans say "he needs to shut up" or "he is doing himself no favours" it has helped him.

Many US fans now want to see him fight to watch him get KTFO and shut up. The fact is that there are countless Haye threads being made by US fans who 18 months ago did not even know who he was and until about 9 months ago had never seen him fight.

He may well have made himself into a hate figure but IF he wins 2 or 3 bouts and gets a shot at a Wlad or a Peter, the number of Americans who will care and would pay PPV for it just to watch the load mouth get KO'd is FAR higher than it ever would have been had he quietly gone about his business.

It also makes it more likely that he wont have to wait in line as long for a shot. Other fighters want him, the boxing press have noticed him, he has made himself a talking point and made his chances of getting the big fights and the big money much more likely than if he had been how he was as a guy turning pro in Britain, which was to be respectful and down to earth.

Now that he has made his name, if he beats Barrett I would hope he starts to tone it down a bit, because he has the exposure but should now be looking to win people over and actually make some fans.
