look at the waist and you will see the difference in height. Manny's waist is at DLH's hip!

Pacquiao weighing 106 many years ago means little, just like DLH fighting a couple times @ 130.

What is more telling about the size difference is that they've been at least 4 divisions apart in recent years, except for their last fights, when they were "only" 15 pounds apart.

Unless DLH is really, really weight-drained at 147, I can't see this being competitive.

 Get the **** outa here with that Bull****. DLH is the bigger man but it's nothing like "David vs Goliath". It's more like Bhop vs DLH or Toney vs Ruiz. It's a DLH advantage but lets not get carried away.

    What an idiotic, uneducated thread.

    Absolutely dead on.

THis thing about Pac being a 106 pounder and hoya fighting @160 is pure hyperbole!

If you want to take an objective look at the weight issue, simply compare the fighter's weights around their early 20's, which is a closer indication of what their natural weight is/was(in comparison)!

Manny is the smaller man, no doubt about it, but the weight difference is only around 10-15 lbs, all things being equal, still a huge difference
and a hurdle Pac will have to overcome but far from the 40+lbs and 6 div. gap some here are trying to make it out to be.

This is such a fallacy of an argument.

    Great post.

People who don't like this fight point out that Pac started at 105 and DLH has fought at 160. On paper that is true but you have to delve into it a bit more like you have to see the actual truth.

Pac is still giving up a hell of a lot of weight but it's not exactly a Calderon v Kiltschko weight difference like some people want you to believe.

DLH having to boil down to 147 for the first time in years is also going to play a huge part in this fight. I think by having the fight at 147 this gives Pac a better chance of winning. If the fight was at 150 or higher then DLH kills Pac. 147 then its competetive enough for Pac to take the risk.

Like the DLH/Hopkins fight when they squared off before the bell, wait for the moment they square off and you will see the NATURAL disparity in size. People can try to make it seem like it's not that big of a disparity by talking about weight and all but it is what it is. DLH is just naturally considerably bigger than Pacman just like Hopkins was naturally bigger than DLH despite meeting at a catchweight.

the fact is Pac is 4" shorter has is giving up 6" in reach. 6" is huge, as you all will see. I love Manny but, this is crazy.

When Pac fought Diaz he came in the ring at about 145. Roach said he will come in pretty much the same weight against DLH but will not have to worry about making the weight as much as he did at 135.

I have heard 147 is about Pacs walking about weight so there will be no problems about weather Pac can carry his speed and power up at 147. The Pac that fought Diaz in terms of speed and power will be the same Pac that steps into the ring with DLH.

They're only about 18 - 20 pounds apart in their standard in-ring weight, and Manny's in-ring weight was only 13 pounds lower than Hoya's in-ring weight in their last respective fights. The size difference isn't so great that it should be a blowout based on size alone.

In my opinion it was one of his signature win in the sense that he became the only fighter to ever stop DLH. In the same way he was the only one to stop Trinidad and Johnson.

You took Manny's lightest weight and Oscar's heaviest (the fight where Oscar looked at his absolute worst by the way)

    That's like saying:
Roy Jones started his career at 157
James Toney weighed 237 vs Rahman

That's 26 lbs more than the difference between where Manny started and Oscar's weight vs Sturm.
And what happened when RJJ & Toney fought at a common weight?
