Yo, is anyone here going to this fight. I am, and I was just checking. Roy came here to Nap a few years ago, but I missed out on seeing him. I want to be able to tell my kids and grand kids that I had the pleasure of seeing this ATG fight in person...plus, I think he's going to win...but back to my original question...anyone going?

i'm not even though i'm in denmark which really isn't that far from wales.

i'd rather see jones in his prime and i think you're being optomistic that he's going to win.

what is hopkins' and jones' combined age again as they become the 'defining fights' of calzaghe's career.....?

calzaghe has publically stated that he's "a businessman" and i believe totally that he wants to keep that '0' with minimal risk.

i hope you're right and he fights pavlik, but the money was also better 5-8 years ago than what he was making now and he still didn't bite....

if he beats roy and pavlik beats hop(big ifs) then the money and clamour for this fight will ultimately override everything,if joe is so resume orientated as he seems to be a lately then i just dont think he has the psychy to say no,to go out saying i beat the LHW champ the SMW champ and MW champ albeit at SMW would be some swansong and quite an achievement,i just have the feeling that the garden wont be both fighters farewell to the world.

its a big carrot i agree, but the only way i see calzaghe accepting this fight is if pavlik looks worse against hopkins than he did.

i don't expect him to take on a proven warrior on the world stage because it would be a first and he's never been interested in risking his 'rep' in the past.

No way will Calslappy fight Pavlik, no way in hell. Pavlik doesn't tick all the boxes....

"is he over the hill?" Nope

    "does he hit hard?" Yep

"Hows his workrate?" Don't even ask

"Is he skillful?" Erm, pretty much yeah

All wrong answers to get Calslappy in the ring. He won't fight Jermain Taylor for the same reasons. All this might be proven irrelevent when old man Jones takes the ****s head off anyway, hopefully :good

Emanuel Steward thinks Jones is going to win as well.

i dont think steward deserves his rep based on the results and conditioning of his fighters over the last few years.

i wouldn't want to train with him and thats serious.

I don't believe Steward is an especially great trainer either, and he's not a very good blow by blow analyst in certain ways, IMO, but he's an excellent analyst in general, and he seems to understand matchups and pacing. Anyway, I'm not endorsing Steward. That's his pick.
