Giacobbe Fragomeni and Rudolf Kraj fight for the vacant WBC cruiserweight title on October 24th...with hide as wbc international champ...whats his chances of a crack at the winner ?

    Not sure.....

He is in a six rounder on Saturday night on the undercard of Jon Thaxton vs Melero for the vacant EBU 135lb title.

This seems like a stay busy fight. I know Hide fancies a shot at Enzo Maccarinelli, which seems unlikely for many reasons......

I wouldn't rule it out, Herbie can now return to the UK without being nicked at the airport.

Good chance of getting a crack, I reckon. Whether he can win that is another idea, the knockdown in his last fight got a lot of people worried again. But he has the punch and the speed to get there.

Ah, I didn't know about that. Has all the legal stuff been settled then?

well...he's no.5 on wbc ratings...and if Fragomeni wins the title then he would be challenging a 39 year old...

Herbie always has a great chance when he fights a more stationary target these days, but guys who give him angles and punch a bit unfortunately give him fits.. His chin has a habit of cracking occasionally, thankfully he always has the courage and fortitude to regain his feet and maintain his composure, he would have a great chance of beating Giacobbe Fragommeni....... Herbie for all of his flaws is a very hurtful hitter, he is very strong too......

Herbie Hide is one of the biggest P4P punchers in boxing today.

Trouble is, he has a near Khan-esque chin. Herbie's quote....

''You get in there with the likes of Vitali Klitschko, and the wind from a missing shot will knock you the **** out''

He'll get a shot sooner rather than later. I thought he'd be ranked higher with the wbc international title. He's also #4 with the WBO which is also vacant.

You know its very poignant , back in 89 when he was just turning pro he was reknowned for having a great chin, he fought great big guys and massive punchers when he first turned to heavyweight , then i remember him sufering one flash knockdown after the bell, against a heavywight who sadly is dead now.. an australian Craig Peterson ... He stopped Peterson shortly after the knockdown but he never suffered any more slips for a very long time... All of a sudden he was in Las Vegas against a gigantic ex heavyweight champ .. Bowe, and he went to bits after a great start.. He was never the same after that fight.. He suffered knockdowns against Vitali, Chinghangu, and even breifly in his last fight at cruiserweight.. I think it just a case of him doubting himself a little bit.. His chin is not all that horrible, he just (In 3 major fights got caught solid) Hell Lewis did in 2 fights.. Remember he only got knocked down in 3 fights, and against very big punchers.. (The Chinghangu one was the result of being hit after the bell flush..) he never recovered , otherwise he has pretty good recouperative powers.. Rememebr to keep getting knocked down in fights, it shows that he at least has the guts to get up and keep coming.. (Bowe & Chinghangu)

Yes , i remember it so well, I was there that evening and sat with Hide at Bowes after party .. I remember how swollen Hides face was just after the fight.. It was horrendous.... But i also remember how swollen Bowes face was too.. Bowes face was very bruised....

I hope he gets a title shot soon, he has deserved it. I have seen his last fights and I assure you that he would knock them both out.

Hide is capable of beating either Fragomeni or Kraj, but will his chin hold up ?
