It is all about the money , no doubt. But can you blame them ? , they will be competitive fights , and gain huge world wide attention. Increasing the profiles of all boxers involved. I dont think there are many fighters out there who would turn down fights like this.
money money money. the fight is a joke between pac and dlh,it`s for money ,but lets face it we are all cursing about it but i bet nobody misses it because we are all curious to what will happen. same goes for hatton, money for dlh would make him fight at 147 in a snap.
De La Hoya has consistently taken on the best fighters of his era. Yes, Pacquaio is smaller than him, but he's still one of the top fighters in the world. Why should these men not be allowed to fight each other and make some big paydays as they round out their careers? If you don't agree with it on moral grounds, don't watch the fights.
Sell outs? No.. Maybe DLH, but you can't call Pac or Hatton a sellout.. Of course there's a lot of money involved, but do you know how big it would be if Pac actually defeated DLH? It would probably be one of the biggest moments in boxing history.. A former 106lber defeating a former 160lber..
Fighters fight for the money, that's fine, but the guy taking the big risk in the money fight is obviously not going to get the share of the criticism. Pacquiao and Hatton would be taking big risks by taking on the considerably larger DLH, and will probably both lose to him.
Pac is 3-1 underdog against DLH. Baldomir was 8-1 underdog against PBF. Was Baldomir a sell out for fighting a very tough challenge in PBF where he was very much an underdog for more money than he could have gotten at the time? Pac is taking on a very tough challenge where many thinks he can win, most importantly him and his coach and getting paid alot for it in the proccess. There's no "selling out" about that.
A few weeks ago you said (something like this, others too) "Pac was taking a big risk because the vast majority had him as a big underdog with no chances to win at all". Now you say "Pac is taking on a very tough challenge where many think he can win...". Can you elaborate on this?
There are many, im sure you have noticed that believe Pac virtually has no chance at all. Never before have I seen so much press for the outrage surrounding a fight because it is classed as a "mismatch". Heck, even the sports board in the philippines I believe is trying to stop this fight. I cant remember the last time people feared for a fighters life before the fight even happened because of how big a mismatch it is. At the same time, many believe he can win. Many of those are thinking with their hearts, including me. I want to be optimistic about his chances so I look at the best possible scenario. Still even for me who believes he can win, I still believe he is taking on a VERY big challenge. Certainly a bigger challenge than any of the LW's or JWW out there.
