Ive Never Seen Andre Berto Fight

Why don't you watch him on Youtube.com? It helps people from all parts of the world get a chance to view boxers that normally wouldn't be televised in their area. I would say Berto is a gifted young fighter and may turn out to be a solid champ, but I feel he is still too inexperienced to be where he is at now ... and although one has skill doesn't mean they will rise to the top. I vote on giving him some more time to mature and then he'll be a top dog.

 

in terms of speed, and power he's compared to jones and tyson often.....

honestly, when it comes to the combination of speed and power....i'd say he's the best p4p

but right now.....it's hard to say if he can hang with the big shots of the division, because of his opposition.......but most likely at this point in his career he can't beat them?, but if he's able to get a heavy named trainer (mayweather, roach) to help him develop his talent into skill, he'd easily be p4p division in my book

 

Very true. I wouldn't of known about him if it weren't for this place and wouldn't of seen him fight if it weren't for YT.

He has good power and speed but has a shitty chin.

 

good attributes and technicianship.

i dont think he is weak chinned...somone could chin him but he is a very good defencive fighter with nice combos and handspeed.
his knockdown was him getting dropped from a guy who just switched to a southpaw stance without berto noticing and looped a left uppercut flush on the chin. and he got up in like 5 secs...stunend but more surprised that he was hit.

it's to early to say he shoudl still be at contender level not a champion. he just needs to grow into his champion status. expereince is the keyword. a fight with collazo would be a good fight that can see him winnign buit be given some tough touchy moments.

A few more fights and he will be ready. He has decent power, excellent speed and also showed some very good stamina in his last fight. The man is determined to be a part of the mix and he's doing just that, a few more good fights and we will know if he belongs with them.

 

Still more fights required to confirm if he has a shitty chin.
