However, the bout was in fact STOPPED due to a cut, and the judges in Puerto Rico had the Puerto Rican winning the fight (surprise, surprise). That is twice they have fought, and twice it has been stopped because of a cut.

Gayfeather beat who to become an all-time great? Brussels? Mitchell? Gatti? Baldomir? Sosa? Chavez? Judah? The only fighters on his resume that are really noteworthy (A+ material) are Castillo (who beat him in their 1st bout) and Corrales. G. Hernandez had already quit against ODLH, and was clearly past his best by the time Gayfeather got to him. Besides, he isn't what I would consider HOF material. Do you? Also, beating a businessman who has done NOTHING the last couple of years and BARELY squeezing out a win isn't something I would be proud of. Instead of proving himself against legitimate contenders and/or fighters, Gayfeather chose to cherrypick his way to certain wins. The sad part is that you swallowed hook, line, and sinker. If Gayfeather hadn't proclaimed to be the G.O.A.T. then that would be different. No one would be asking him to prove it. A lot of fans and media will remember Gayfeather for who he was, which is a talented fighter who refused to fight certain fighters and instead feasted on has-beens or never-were's. You can definitely make an argument about Gayfeather being the best in the lower weight classes, but to say he achieved ATG status just because he beat Hatton, the businessman, Baldo, Judah, Mitchell, and Gatti is laughable at best.

Either way, both of us have our opinions on Void Gayfeather and his legacy. You see him as an ATG. I see him as a boxer who took the path of least resistance, and then retired rather than face Margarito. To quote Gayfeather, he told Margarito in the eye and said something to the effect of, "We'll meet later on down the road, and when we do, it will be bigger and better." With that, Gayfeather shook Margarito's hand and wet his pants as soon as Margarito walked away. Knowing full well he had just faced his worst nightmare, Gayfeather let out a big sigh of relief, and cried in Ellerbe's arms. O.k. so maybe it didn't exactly happen that way, but he did in fact tell Margarito that one day they would face each other in the ring. Let's see how you spin this one.

Golden Johnson , Kermit Cintron please !!! clotty and cotto is the only two fighter I give him props for but other then those two fights who did he beat ?!?

your biting down on floyd resume but you forget about Hatton and Cotto sitting in the Audience of Gatti execution looking as nervous as a hookers in church .

what was Cotto excuse for not fight floyd at 140 then !?!.. was he too green or was he weigh drained at 140 ?? As I remember it Arum would not let him get in the ring and play with floyd at the time a smaller fighter. In any case floyd would have tore his ass up ..

Hatton right out refused to fight Floyd even after becoming the Liner 140 champ even after beating the so called baddest man at 140.

Did Floyd Run from Margarito? ,, I don't see how when margarito own promoter said he didn't ..

Beating Cotto was the biggest statement Margarito has ever made at 147 his entire career ever ... so I don't see how everyone was getting on the margarito band wagon about him being the man beat floyd 147 when his appeal was his size advantage over floyd , up until that time Margarito had done absolutely nothing other then win a vacant title against a guy who was thinking about retiring anyway. How can Margarito or any boxer prove himself when he was being turned down by the "bigger" names in the division. He can't FORCE others to fight him. It's not difficult to understand that, trust me. Only recently was he finally given the chance by Cotto to fight a "name" fighter, and he took full advantage of it.

The only joke, and a bad one at that, is Gayfeather and his "legacy." Look at the bright side, he'll always have you and a few others to defend his actions in the ring, or lack thereof.

I am amazed at how clever you are with your responses. Gayfeather is classic, you took a term commonly used to describe homosexuals and inserted it into Mayweather. I bet you didn't even have to think about that it just popped right into your head as you were writing the post. I totally see what you did there by replacing "w" with an "f", by doing that you were able to get the word feather. Even though I'm not sure how "feather" is supposed to be insulting, clearly your on a whole different level when it comes to insults than I am, so I will just trust that it is a hurtful term towards Floyd. Also by using your incredibly intellegent name for Mayweather you solidify your argument has him not being an ATG. Before I read your post I was convinced how good of a fighter Mayweather was. But now by your calling him "Gayfeather" I now realize that someone with a name that can be easily made fun of by simply replacing a few letters, could never be an ATG. I'm quite sure you have opened the eyes of others as well. So thank you for your witty posts.. I look forward to reading more in the future.

there were other opportunity available to him after calling out floyd, remember arum put a price on Margarito head that many of the top fighter at 147 and 154 answered only for Arum to retract and states he only wants floyd but yet in the same breath he claimed everyone is afraid of margarito but he only wanted floyd...:huh
