I try and run at least 3 miles every run, depending on my mood I will run 6 - 10 miles on a good day. I record everything on my Nike + for my ipod Nano. Excellent piece of kit!
3 miles on Mon,Wed and Thur and 6 miles Tues, Fri and Sat..... I live in the mountains so I always have to run up steep hills at some point!
I usually do a few 2-3 mile speed runs and one or two distance runs (6-8) miles. I believe both are important.
What I usually get in is 2 2-3 mile runs(fast pace) and than one run that is about 7 miles(havent clocked it yet, but it is at least 6 1/2) My coach tells me to only run 3 times a week to avoid shin splints and such..
I am currently running 3.5 miles on a recovery run, 7.5 miles on my tempo runs and 15 miles on my LSD runs. I also you my run map to gauge my distance. I also have a timex GPS bodylink ironman watch but find it can be rather erratic so have stopped using it.
Depends i will do 2-3 runs a week 3 miles the first one then double them up each time so the second one is 6 the last one is 9 and increase a mile a week, Last week i ran a half marathon which is 13 miles so this week i been doing speed runs 5 and 3 mile runs and swimming.
I usually run 5 miles 4 times a week. I am trying to cut that down to twice a week and substitute it with swimming, to see how that works for me.
I stopped training for a while (1 month) so Im starting pretty much back at scratch to get my fitness back up to where it should be. I run 3 miles every second day and do intense conditioning every day Im not running (4 rounds currently). I add a half mile each week and one more round of conditioning every two weeks. In two more months I'll be back to being a frickin machine. I take rest days whenever I feel I need one for whatever reason, usually one every 5-10 days. Just need more shoulder endurance though...
My average run is about 4 miles. You can measure your running routes with this site: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/
