***THIS IS NOT ABOUT TALENT/ABILITY/ACHIEVEMENT/POUND-FOR-POUND/GREATNESS, PURELY A DEBATE ON RESUME***

Some guy said earlier today said on here that Mosley's resume is as good as De La Hoya's or Trinidad's, and no-one commented on it.

Is this a widely held belief?

For me, despite Mosley's considerable talent and ability, his resume is clearly not as strong as Oscar's or Tito's.

De La Hoya Top Ten Names on the Res
    - IKE QUARTEY
    - FERNANDO VARGAS
    - PERNELL WHITAKER
    - RICARDO MAYORGA
    - JAVIER CASTILLEJO
    - OBA CARR
    - MIGUEL ANGEL GONZALEZ
    - GENARO HERNANDEZ
    - RAFAEL RUELAS
    - CAMPAS or GATTI

    Losses: HOPKINS, MAYWEATHER, TRINIDAD, MOSLEY(twice).

Mosley Top Ten Names on the Res
    - OSCAR DE LA HOYA
    - PHILIP HOLIDAY
    - LUIS COLLAZO
    - FERNANDO VARGAS
    - RICARDO MAYORGA
    - JOHN JOHN MOLINA
    - JESSE JAMES LEIJA
    - GOLDEN JOHNSON
    - ANTONIO DIAZ
    - CRUZ or TAYLOR

Losses: FORREST (twice), WRIGHT (twice), COTTO.

Trinidad Top Ten Names on the Res
    - OSCAR DE LA HOYA
    - FERNANDO VARGAS
    - WILLIAM JOPPY
    - RICARDO MAYORGA
    - OBA CARR
    - YORI BOY CAMPAS
    - DAVID REID
    - PERNELL WHITAKER
    - HECTOR CAMACHO
    - HACINE CHERIFI

    Losses: HOPKINS, WRIGHT, JONES JR.

Now to me, De La Hoya's and Trinidad's top 10 scalps are considerably stronger throughout. De La Hoya is the only prime, top quality fighter that Shane beat.

And it must be noted that the men that Oscar and Tito lost to were better as well. Every guy DLH lost to is absolute quality (I include Mosley in that, great ability) and 3 of the 4 were p4p#1s and the other was a p4p#2 (Tito). Trinidad's loss v Jones Jr can be written off as he had been out of the game for years and was fighting at a weight far too high for him. His only other losses were to Hopkins and Wright. Mosley also lost to a great in Wright, but Forrest? Cotto? IMO, they are very good fighters, but not on a par with Hopkins and Mayweather etc.

Anyway, as I said, all three are amazing fighters, but who has the best resume???

Oscar and Tito both have a case for top spot, but I would go with Oscar because the Whitaker he fought was much better than the Sweet Pea that Tito fought, and because I think Ike Quartey at the time was a brilliant and underrated welterweight.

SSM was a dynamite fighter as you say Pacfan, but I agree that he never fought enough quality to have a great resume like the other two. His best win after Oscar was probably Collazo - that says it all really. Other than Holiday his resume at lightweight contains no-one very good, and after that its a wasteland. Vargas and Mayorga were shot by the time he fought them.

You can argue between Oscar and Tito, but SSM has to be 3rd in this equation.

    H2H?? Another story entirely!

HGH is indeed another story, no-one is questioning that Mosley had brilliant ability, but when the question is solely about resume, I have yet to be convinced by his record.

I decided not to put him on because I think he was a bit over-the-hill by the time Oscar fought him.

To be honest though, that just proves further how strong Oscar's resume is. I left JCC out, but when Oscar fought him first in 1996 he was 96-1-1 and coming off some good wins. That Chavez would definitely have beaten Hector Camacho from Tito's top 10, and Molina, Leija, Johnson, Diaz, Cruz and Taylor from Mosley's!!

Yep, Oscar's resume is incredibly deep, no question about it.

From the list of top guys each fought, it looks like tito fought the better comp lol. But overall, from the start of their careers to almost the end...right now Dlh has faced the stiffer comp of the 3, win or lose.

    1. Dlh
    2. Tito
    3. Shane

I'm pretty sure it was Jimmie, ESB's biggest Mosley nuthugger.
