I've scored a ton of controversial fights over the past week (Trinidad-Hoya, Mosley-Hoya, Leonard-Hagler, Johnson-Dawson, Barrera-Morales I, and Pacman-Marquez II) on here and had some fun with it...

Fight is on youtube if you want to score it with me. Enjoy!

Umm...People go this board to argue/debate; the past and the present. If you don't like that, I don't know what to tell ya.

All my controversial fight posts are getting 3+ pages so I think ESB members are enjoying the debates.

Even in this DLH hating community, Oscar will always win the Whitaker polls... simply because most think he was the better man that night...

I had Oscar winning rounds 2,3,4,12 clearly.

I had Whitaker winning rounds 5 and 9 clearly.

I am stunned by how controversial this fight is to the public to be honest...I thought Oscar won this fight clearly (in fact I think 116-110 oscar is a legit score). Almost all the best punches of the fight were from Oscar.

I agree. These forums are made to discuss and talk boxing. Past, present and future.

    Whitaker by two points.

He out-threw, outlanded, landed at a higher percantage, dropped, and clowned Oscar throughout the fight, while controlling the pace. Sorry, but if you don't understand the controversy you're either biased or simply can't score fights to save your life, which Soxfan has already proven in his threads regarding Hagler and Leonard, etc.

These are good threads. Try Hoya/Sturm next or sometime. See what we get. :thumbsup

I'm biased? My ESB user isn't "Sweet Pea"...But anyways, a lot of people agree with me on my take of Hagler-Leonard and other fights.

Oscar was not only the aggressor, landed probably 25/30 of the hardest shots of the fight, and was outlanded by a relatively slim margin (especially considering almost all of pernells punches were jabs).

I respect people who would give either whitaker or leonard a decision; I could see the fight going that way. However, I think clean, effective punching is most important and that's why I scored those bouts for hagler and oscar respectively.

Thanks Shadow. I enjoy watching/scoring the fights and seeing you guys debate it (often seeing shockingly different outcomes).

I would LOVE to watch Hoya-Sturm. I've had a lot of reccomendations to score/poll this fight. However that fight isn't on youtube...If you know of somewhere else online I could watch this fight though, I'd love to know.

    DLH clearly won this fight.

Though Whitaker did have his moments.

Clearly is a word that should not be mention in this fight.
