The rumor here in Indy is that a fight between Lamon Brewster & James Toney is close to being finalized for Saturday, November 29, @ Canseco Fieldhouse.
But he's as tough as they come with skills a lightweight would love to have don't hate a guy if he brags about himself gets in there with guys twice his size and knocks guys out
I don't know who is more shot in this fight.Going for Brewster but NOTHING would surprise me in this fight
Isn't it Conseco Fieldhouse? Unless they have changed the name for the baseball and boxing legend Jose Canseco.
would acutally love to see this fight...a good offensive fighter in brewster vs the master of d toney..think toneys slickness wins this one though
It would surprise me if this fight really happened. I know Toney and Brewster are friends and sparring partners, but wasn't Toney supposed to fight Tony Thompson in the beginning of december? Also Toney and Brewster have the same trainer, Shadeed Solouki, in what corner would he be if the fight happened? Anyways, I saw some footage of the two sparring and Toney owned Brewster there - I know that a real fight is something completely different than sparring, but Brewster could hardly land a punch on Toney, that might be an indication of how this fight would turn out. Toney knows Brewster very well, he'd know how to handle him in the ring.
James Toney needs to retire while he get still put together a coherent sentence....his slurring really bad lately. Shame on his handlers for letting him continue to fight.
Damn, Toney is one stubborn *******. Already fought a serious puncher in Peter twice and now he's going for Brewster, the man deserves respect no matter how much anyone would dislike him. Good fight.
As much as I love boxing and as much as I would love to make the drive down to Indy for a good fight card, I have no interest in this fight. I respect both guys for what they have accomplished, but Lamon looked like he was done when he last took the ring against Wlad, and Toney already sounds like he's taken too many punches. They have the right to continue their careers, but I don't think I'll be tuning in to this one.
Good Guy Brewster vs Bad Guy Toney. Interesting fight although I think both are damaged goods. Brewster should make Toney pee in a bottle before stepping in the ring... STEEEEERRROOOIIIDS! Go Brew!
