i think Peter must press Klitschko hard from the outset. If he fights patiently like he did against Maskaev or Mccline, he will get OWNED cause Vitali will set the pace from the outside and control the flow.

IMO, he must mimic the Wlad gameplan. Test Vitali's movement, stamina and punch resistance with unfiltered aggression.

But in order to get inside, he'll have to jab to take advantage of Vitali Klitschko's lack of movement and tendency to lean back.

A lot of people, especially those that have never been in the ring, think that the jab is only used for outside fighters, but don't understand that if you want to get inside effectively and avoid letting your opponent just time you on the way in without anticipating anything in return, that you need to throw the jab to get your opponent to react.

If they're a great mover, double and triple up your jab. If they're like Vitali though, who isn't a great mover and probably especially not now, you throw it just enough to get inside, and in his case where he often leans back and away from your jab, you throw the left hook because he'll be leaning right in its path.

Either way, if Peter wants to pressure effectively and be in range of Klitschko's body, his jab is what will open it up for him.

Peter is a big fat target without his jab, and if he doesn't use it, he's ****ed because Vitali will T off on him.

Vitali Klit should be able to pepper Sam Peter fairly easy by staying just outside of Peter's pocket..... Sam Peter will NEED to get close, and, he'll eat leather in the process..... I see V.K. keeping a contolled tempo and keeping his range with his long jab... Sam Peter is in for a very rough night, folks...

Yeah, but you're making a lot of assumptions with that prediction.

You're assuming that Klitschko isn't a shell of his former self despite the 4 year lay off, obvious old age, and previous lack of mobility, and you're assuming that Peter hasn't improved at all and won't utilize the the head movement he used against Maskaev nor the jab he used against Toney.

If Peter can put those two together he should win this fight. It will be much better for boxing if Peter wins this fight.

I loved it ***** ASS but I'll be short and straight. Peter needs to jump on Vitali right away, actually like Graham Houston the Fight Writter says, jump on him and let his hands go hard and wherever it lands. I know that Peter will be put off if he waits too much and loses precious time starting to dismantle the Giant... He doesn't necessarily need to lead himself in with a double jab but he needs to be first all the time - the key should be to make Vitali react and never have the initative - unload those hammer right hands on his body and keep that lil head movin and the dismantling process will have its start.
