vitali has taken upercuts from LL and been on the recieving end of much harder punches than what haye can throw.

Haye is unproven at heavyweight and is not blessed with the best of chins how is he going survive the power of vitali

Dude, Vitali always LOOKED slow, but isn't. I've tried to explain this countless times, a small airplane will alwaya appear faster to the naked eye than a 747, when in fact it is much slower. Tall, lanky fighters like Klitschko and Pavlik look slower than they are, yet visibly fast fighters like Larry Donald, Herbie Hide, Corrie Sanders or Jermaine Taylor could not use their speed to defeat them.

Besides, for a fighter not active in four years, Vitali had awesome reflexes, timing and accuracy in his punches. Yes, there is room for improvement and he will imrpove, this was his tuneup fight and he won every half minute of it...what more can you ask for?

How many fighters in history would have so completely dominated Peter after a four year hiatus? Only the very best, like Ali, Foreman, Tyson Lewis.

haye would look good against vitali until klit cracks him on the chin once and i doubt haye will hurt vitali. haye will be MUCH better at avoiding those shots than Peter was but he will take a left jab straight combo eventually. i don't think it will take more than that to end hayes' delusion that he is a top 5 heavy

He gets both, his chin is poor, but untested at his "supposed" natural weight. I'm just trying to work out how he'd get hit with anything significant from Peter or Vitali going by how slow they were. It was as if it was being played on tape delay at half speed... surely a Haye or Chambers type of quick heavy would see this coming a mile off, time the counter and put on a clinic?

I just cant be happy about an old ex champ coming back after injury after injury and a massive layoff to totally school the 2nd best heavy in the world (not that I ever agreed with that, but this is common perception). The HW division is flat, lifeless and ****ed beyond all measure... A Tyson and Lewis comeback doesn't seem as laughable now... :(

That's a big 'IF', I could quite easily see him avoiding most of them, Peter while he got tagged never got hit completely flush, as I was literally praying Vitali landed so I could switch the channel. Lets not forget Peter was static, no arm, head or body movement, he barely even moved forwards at times. Is this what we come to expect now? I think people are getting WAAAAAY to carried away by this comeback, Vitali looks like he's just waiting for a quick heavy to expose and make a fool of him...

After the Klits recent performance I dont see any reason why any HW with some talent wouldn't feel like he could make a noise. One Klit is weak chinned and willed, wont engage and will likely go into a shell if put on the back foot, the other just needs showing some lateral movement and quick bursts and flurries and he'd be stood there for 12 rounds asking his corner what just happened.

Good post :good I know where you're coming from, a Haye or Povetkin upset would be great for the divison. I'm not sold on Chris Arreola, i like the look of Eddie Chambers though

A Haye upset would be great for the division...David Haye can KO and get KO'd. He's extremely vulnerable and that's why his heavyweight tenure will be fascinating to watch. I wouldn't be surprised if he scored a big win over klitschko. I also wouldn't be surprised if he got KO'd but a fringe contender.

Haye is going to stick with Wladimir, first he needs to perform a bit and impress especially in his next fight then he can pick it up from there, Wladimir needs to focus on Povetkin as well so let's not count out both of their next opponents. A fight with Vitali doesn't seem likely at all, Vitali already hinted that he wants the WBA title next which is held by Valuev to secure all titles with him and his brother. The talks of Haye and Wladimir already started and the hype is going strong, their won't be any changes to that unless either man loses in their next fights.

:good Guess that's what makes Haye such an exciting fighter, going to be fun to see how things unfold. Good points, thanks for your input.

Agree with him looking to take on Wladimir first, and about his overall performance. Like you mentioned Scar the hypes already started.Do you remember that video of Haye confronting Wlad ? I'm sure you do, also do you think Vitali's return will increase Wladimir's confidence in himself ?

It appears to me, having only seen 3 Haye fights, he is willing to take one, to give one....just the right recipe to beat the K bros.
