I think in the USA those who dont know him as 'the man' really actually know hims as Anthony 'the mouth' Mundine due to his 9/11 comments. Im being serious, and maybe thats what choc/oscar was referring to but then sugar-coated it with that wonder from down under bull****...

He should have done this 2 or 3 years ago, he needs to fight a top contender (pardon the pun) now because he hasn't fought one since Danny Green.

Good luck to Mundine. It may be a very shrewd move. Cracking the U.S. may force him into a major bout. Would be good to see how far he has come since Kessler against some high quality opposition. Incidently, meeting up with Golden Boy could certainly help him down the track and would certainly help him get onto a decent undercard to begin with. Hope he does well out of it all.

You'd imagine he'd be mandatory challenger after the Sturm - Sylvester bout since he's #2 WBA contender. Unless, he has to fight an eliminator bout, which in some sense warranted since he has yet to fight at middleweight.

In any case, he's on the doorstep of fighting for the WBA middleweight title. If he wins that, he's a target for the guys in the states and bigger names in the division and might be seen as less threatening than a Pavlik or Abraham.

It's wishful thinking but after about 6 fights of middle tier bouts since beating Soliman, really should be the norm.

Pretty lame, that's almost a rip off of Kostya Tszyu, the thunder from down under. The yanks must have limited imagination.

Yeah. Don King has referred to Briggs as 'the thunder from down under". and I've heard it mentioned regarding other Aussie fighters as well.

The only Aussie WORTHY of carrying the established title of " The Thunder From Down Under " these days is Micheal Katsidis , Mandy is more like the " Slumber Fron Down under " :patsch .
