~ Carl FROCH v. Jean PASCAL ~ ANALYSIS and PREDICTION Thread ~ 6th December, ITV1 ~

Froch UD in a lacklustre fight. Both aren't top 8 at SMW. And then Taylor comes and takes the belt.

 

I think Pascal is getting his bells rung for that fight. We've seen Alcine (GYM) getting it, we've seen Sébastien Demers (GYM) getting it too, now it's PAscal's time. Gym can't bring it's boxers to the higher level. Pascal has tremenduous talent, but it has to be worked on. Gym hasn't shown they are able to do it. He should move to Interboxe with Stéphane Larouche.

The only promising talent in GYM right now is N'Goudjo and look what they did to him? Sending him in with Malignaggi and Castillo. Granted, On my score cards he had won the bouts, but it was obvious they wouldn't give it to a unknown canadian without a KO.

Pascal will be exposed, unless his shoulder is ok, and his head is ok, and his trainning is ok, and his chin is ok and his mouth is shut....

 

the way i see it - pascal is a lackluster fighter with a non-deserving big yap, and if froch does not soundly beat him, he is also suspect.

 

I can't see how 2 unproven prospects are given a shot at the WBC title. I just can't see it being right. Even if 1 wins, he doesn't prove much. Both have been over protected.

And just because Froch has been calling out big names. He decided to fight cabbies for the first 20 fights of his career, now the big guys should fight him?

 

Froch late KO.Pascal's chin will betray him unless he sticks and move,he should just stay on the outside and land over Froch's very low left.But Froch will probably wear him down and stop him late.The winner of this will go on to the bigger things,the loser ain't probably ever gonna comeback good

 

I have to agree to some extent Thunder. The loser will be a journeyman for the rest of his life. Unless as I said, Pascal switched to Stéphane Larouche.

I'm pretty sure that BoxingTrashTalk meant that the both of them are undeserving of a title shot. And in some way, he's right. Neither Froch nor Pascal has beaten a worthy opponent on their way up. But that's boxing for ya !

 

Well, I don't think Decebal said he wasn't right. And I agree too. They don't deserve title shots this early.

But it was one of two things really, wait for contenders to be free and fight for the vacated belt (Hence, losing money waiting and be without a title holder for some time) OR have these two greenies fight for the trinket.:rasta

 

Froch definately deserves a title shot. Who else is there? Froch is fresh, exciting and different.

 

The way I see it Froch will measure Pascal up in the first couple of rounds before letting his hands go. Pascal will try to use his speed and movement to box on the outside keeping Froch at arm's length. The Canadians in this thread say a lot of things need to go right for Pascal for him to win. That's a lot of pressure on a 25 year old. That's why I favour Froch.

Froch will want to make a statement to have a chance of getting the Taylor v. Lacy winner next. I think he'll win by KO but who knows whether he's really good enough?

I disagree that Pascal would end up a journeyman if he loses. He's 25, he fights abroad, this is his 22nd fight and his first good opponent. He can definitely come back from anything unless he gets badly hurt or mentally scarred. He is a talented guy and with more experience, things can fall into place for him.

If Froch loses this fight I think he'll never make it though. He's too old to improve much with his style of fighting. If he loses, he'll be a contender at best the way I see it.
