I think cotto could win the rematch. He just has to do the same has the first fight outbox him. But don't waste so much energy on power shots this time because your not going to hurt him anyway. And just get him on points. But i can't see cotto doing that because of his heart and pride.
He needs to work more on getting in range and throw fast combinations and then getting out, this was different than what he did in the firs fight cause he was just throwing shots backpedaling, therefore he was going to the danger zone ( ropes and corners ) if he applies the in and out strategy he will be able to stay in the center of the ring and win by points, in a similar way that pbf fought corrales
Thanks, I am Mexican but i will be rooting for cotto, it will do best for the sport if he wins and with this last fight my respect for him increased
lol, naw. Dlh, Tito and Cotto are primarily left hookers. They can throw the right because they are/were smart fighters, but they lacked serious power in their right hand against the very best they fought. It isn't a knock, I'm just pointing out that they don't specialize in that punch.
But to comment on the thread subject I think Margo wins the rematch he is just too much of a stylistic issue for my fellow Boricua Cotto to deal with. Some say that if Cotto would have went to the body more he could have won but there's two problems within that the first being that if he tries to go to the body he's at risk to getting countered by Margo because in order for Cotto to be effective going to the body he has to have his feet set the second problem is that Margo does cover up his body very well he always has his elbows to his side. I would hope that Cotto can the rematch and prove me wrong but I'm afraid he won't.
Cotto was winning the early rounds on the cards but he was getting hit way too much by a slower less skilled fighter in those rounds. He's faster/quicker in all facets than Marg. and must be able to defend himself better against the body shots and uppercuts. Don't let Marg. have the chance to set up as much for his shots. force him to reload his shots more. Cotto will need to rely on a stiff jab more as well as more unpredictable movements, not so much straght backing up. The problem is, Cotto has to pretty much strip down his style and rebuild, and that's asking quite a bit.

He needs to hold more. Plain and simple. Hold and push. That will weigh more on Marg because by instinct he will want to push back thus allowing Cotto to mess with his mind. When Marg thinks it is a wrestling match, Cotto can take advantage of his anger.
Cotto might be able to win if (a) he makes a more conscious effort to stay off the ropes and keep things in the middle of the ring and (b) he defends his body better. It was a boxing clinic by Cotto for the first seven rounds, and he can still win if he can avoid getting worn down.
