Well THIS is going to be a boring bout. A giant that can't punch and a senior citizen that can't move. I just hope Holleyfield doesn't mind Hugging a sweaty shag.

True, but it is rather ridiculous though.

The man has only won 6 of his last 14 fights over a 10 year period, and hasn't beaten a rated opponent in ages...

"Holy-Valuev" is regular cable network material..... A PPV attempt would bomb like Hiroshima.... That is why the CABBAGE being offered is NOT so great..... Valuev would bank 2 to 3 million based on his WBA title....

Still not sure if this fight's gonna happen, it's not official yet. Anyways, I don't like Holyfield further risking his health, he's done more than enough for the sport, but since he'll fight anyways I'll be rooting for him and hope he realizes his dreamof becoming 5 time champ (or rather beltholder).
I wouldn't even say it's totally impossible since Valuev is slow and immobile, and Holyfield is still dangerous against opponents he can get to, but Valuevs jab might be hard to get by for the old man these days... we'll see.

it's a matter of bargaining power, holyfield NEEDS the money by all accounts due to his lifestyle (not saying hes' broke) and he looked bad (which is not good for a 45 year old people think is washed up) vs Ibrag and can't make big money fighting anyone else. Plus holy wants another title badly (tho he probably really needs money more).

This article is OLD. IT IS BEFORE Valuev released the statment saying they were against the fight.

This ESPN report has to be wrong, cause as you said, Valuev's crew already said Holy was not an option.

What a load of crap it'll be, if they DO end up fighting Holy. :-(

I admire Holyfield but watching him get his head snapped back by small HW Ibragimov, I wouldn't want to see him fight again.

Honestly though I fully agree Holyfield should be protected from himself, his last fight with Ibragimov was not a bad outting, I had that a very close fight for Ibragimov it was more like 115-113 IMO, those who had it 117-111 are those who scored it simply becuase they dont want to see Holyfield get hurt, but honestly that fight was close.

Holyfield doesn't need you pussies to worry for him. It's him to go against the Giant and all odds, not you God Damn it! You don't want to see the fight, turn on the Disney Channel. Evander will work inside and drive monster hooks up and down, Lord, give us the power or else, let us die here and right now.

Thats false inforamtion as Valuev is already in negotiations to fight the winner of Golota-Austin. This fight is pretty much a done deal as King manages all of them.

Well, it is quite surprising. I am actually interested in seeing this one and I definitely see Holy going the distance. And would you rather like to see Valuev-Mehaan?
