I voted A- to A because his technical skills arent quite elite but he is so effective & durable that he MIGHT very well be the best in his division right now as FMJ is `retired.`
only think about him is that he can get outworked which is pretty bad in big fights... sure he has a massive amount of heart but looking at the Williams fight, if a fighter has a solid enough chin to hold his punches and is able to throw 80+ punches a round, Tony will lose every round.
Then Cotto is A D fighter.Margo got Great Chin,Heart,Stinma,Punches from all angles, throw's great body and head shot's oh and fight's ANYONE Big risk Low reward. So STFU:deal
Cotto is a "D" fighter with a "F" for heart because he quit. Margarito made sure to show everyone what Cotto was made of. Tsk...tsk....tsk.
Although I always root for Margarito, it is pretty clear that he is a solid "A- to B+" fighter. He will always give the top guys trouble, but may come up short in certain fights. What he has going for him are as follows: heart, chin, stamina, above-average punching power, and an indomitable will to win. However, his flaws are as follows: tends to start slow, can and does throw looping punches, sometimes seems as if stuck in 2nd gear, and average hand and foot speed. His most glaring weakness has to be his ring "age." Although he is 30 years old, all those wars have to be catching up. He may have two to maybe three good years left, and then he will drop off significantly. Although many bash him for having "5" losses on his record, you have to take into account that he wasn't coddled when he began his career. He wasn't an "Olympian" who was being carefully matched to build his resume. Bottomline is this. Margarito fought Clottey, Williams, Cotto, Cintron x2, and Santos x2. He went 4-2-1. Mayweather fought Baldomir, Gatti, Judah, Mitchell, ODLH, and Hatton. Mayweather went 6-0 against that group. Now, if you were to substitute Margarito and Mayweather with the other's previous opponents, I think it would be reasonable to say the following. Mayweather could have easily ended up with the exact same record that Margarito had while Margarito could have gone 6-0 with the other group. Furthermore, I would give Margarito's original opponents a very good chance of beating every single one of Mayweather's opponents with the exception of ODLH. Anyhow, just throwing that out there for comparison. Margarito may not be a Julio Cesar Chavez when it comes to skill or technique, but he sure as hell gives it his all even if he may come up a little short sometimes.
cotto has been in dog fights before, and will again, but he was mentally and physically beaten that night, he was ready to be hauled out of arena on oxygen if he fought on..... so he called it a night! unlike peters who jst gave up! cotto has a "A" heart, he fights everyone...including the feared margarito, and he will again! get ur facts right!
B class fighter.....any A class fighter his size* would do away with him with ease, it wouldn't even be competitive
I want to challenge all you athletes out there to spend 12-3 minute rounds coming at your opponent, punching from the floor and swinging hard, and taking straight shots in the process, then you can talk about you A-B-Cs.
That's exactly what they sent back to Wiliams when he tried to make it happen. About a rematch possibly happening I hope so, it doesn't seem likely at all but the hope is always there.
Spinning what? The only one who's spinning is the delusional one who already invented a list of excuses not even Margarito used for his losses. :deal
Clearly, many people here don't like boxing for the fghting but for something else entirely. How anyone could say Margarito was any less than an excellent boxer simply beggars belief.
Did you hear what Lennox Lewis said about losses in general during Martinez/Bunima?, of course you didn't because there is no way a physically and mentally healthy human being would be as ******ed as you are. "I don't understand why Martinez didn't immediately ask for a rematch to avenge his losses, I don't understand why any fighter wouldn't attempt to avenge a loss if they're serious enough about legacy" Those are Lennox Lewis' quotes regarding the subject and your guy has half a dozen of losses without any attempt to avenge any, not even ATTEMPTED to avenge any. Keep explaining to yourself how everyone needs to "Wait" everytime you go to sleep. A complete failure when it comes ot boxing in general and even your nuthugging is pathetic, try to improve at least
