Marg only knows how to fight one way whereas Cotto has a much more varied style. I honestly believe the fact he couldnt breath properly for most of the fight was his biggest hindrence that night. By the end of the fight Cotto was struggling to breath through his mouth never mind his nose due to all the blood and swelling.

I see a comfortable points win for Miguel 8-4 in the rematch.

Probably he will..... I have to favour Margo if they fight again.....

Seriously, he's got to improve many things if he wants to have a good chance at this fight, Margo is DEFINITELY the worst opponent stylewise for him.

    But there's always hope!!!

    GO COTTO!!!

    WAR COTTO!!!! :happy:happy:happy

You can comprehend that someone can look better in a losing effort than in a winning one depending on the circumstances can't you? I do agree with you though that Margarito isn't the same fighter. That's a good point you make. This is definately a factor in his performance in the fights we've mentioned - although that doesn't change the point - Margarito looked bad against Cotto. Whether or not that was because of where he is overall, or just a bad night, I guess we'll see.

i was reading some of the spanish posts on the site and once again some of the local pr people were saying miguel is developing a drinking problem. one of the reasons why he was distancing himself from his uncle was because his uncle actually wanted to move miguel away from pr because he'd go from the gym straight to the bar. with so much at stake, miguel needs to put his priorities in check. their was also other disturbing info in there but just like i'm a fan of margo, i'm also of cotto so i prefer to not mention the rest cuz it sounds pretty downgrading and something u wouldn't expect from him. i just really, really hope he doesn't start to develop a big head like Wilfredo Gomez did before his fight with Salvador Sanchez. hopefully they just rumors

If you don't mind sharing the rest, feel free to go ahead. This forum is fairly mature and good at self monitoring from what I can tell. Cotto is one of the more beloved fighters here. I'm sure people are concerned and curious.

I see what you're trying to say with the underlined, but losing is losing. AM is a thinking man's fighter. He doesn't have the superb talent some guys are born with, but he is a born fighter, and a smart fighter. I love AM's defense more than his offense:lol:. But we have to disagree on this one. I thought AM was at his very best. There are always things fighters/fans say they a fighter could've done better. Now I can go along with AM being hit more to the head than in other fights, but he never took flush shot after flush shot. He rolled with a lot of those shots, and he took away the one thing Cotto did well and that was body punching.

Here we go again... Losing is losing? Nah, a performance is a performance. Let's get this straight, eh.
