Although in the twilight of his career, Roy was a complete fighter.

Right now straight from the p4p list its both Marquez and Cotto. Everyone else is missing a certain attribute or at the end of their career.

Marquez is definately a complete fighter, truly, although his chin could be a little better, IMO. It's cost him big a few times in his career. Also - Cotto? Why do you see Cotto as a complete fighter? He just lost to a very crude Antonio Margarito. Complete fighters don't lose to the Margarito's of the world, do they?

Sugar Ray Leonard - speed, power, ring smarts, defence, offence, fight of the back or the front foot.
Duran is another favourite for me

    Current, my first thought was
    Chad dawson
Im not giving Cotto my vote until he does finds the stamina to keep Margo off him for 12.
Mayweather is also a perfect pick. Some may argue that he doesnt have power but down in his original wieghtclasses he was'nt so defensive and had good power.

I'll put this a different way; if Cotto was a complete fighter - he wouldn't have lost to Margarito. It's because he is an incomplete fighter that he lost to Margarito.

I did not refer to Cotto as complete fighter in a sense of invincibility. Yes he lost to Margarito and I enjoyed his defeat I should add. :D

But Cotto ha power, speed, good reflexes, good boxing technique, and a decent defense. So I think he is a complete fighter, even though he bit more that he could chew with Margo.

Let me put this way, Cotto is complete fighter, but in a lower level than the greats of the past mentioned.

Ok, because to me a complete fighter means that the fighter's punch resistance is as good as his power. That's first and foremost. You can't get past that.

marquez does have holes in his defense so he is somewhat hittable as evidence in his recent fights w/ mab, pac and casa. a complete fighter has to be both a defensive wizard and an offensive dynamo. i just can't seem to think of anybody at present who fits that description.

I won't go quite that far. Defensive wizard is a little high on the expectations, IMO.

    Al time-SRR
    Recent-Hopkins.

T me a 'complete fighter' means he can do anything, which is why I picked who I did, 2 guys who could box and brawl with the best of them. Can't see Roy Jones doing that.

i dunno bout roy, he has never been in a brawl or up against and more skillfull opponent so we have not had to see him change style mid-fight to win, or use more defense then offense to win!so for me he is out!
Mayweather can use both offense and defence to win, but cannot brawl, but he is close to being complete!
SRL is complete, Bhop is complete.... there my past and present!
