he probably would have liked to have been this active against Taylor and Calzaghe.

    They wouldnt let him.

He has been fighting at his pace. He made Pavlik fight at HIS PACE. And this is a easy victory, Tito-like.

He's also young and has a future, no shame in losing to Hopkins.

Looks like Joe Calzaghe wont be fighting Kelly Pavlik anymore lol! Just goes to show how good Joe Calzaghe is. I read somewhere, what would of happened if this Bernard Hopkins would have turned up on when he fought Joe Calzaghe. Quite simple Bernard Hopkins would have got hit even more.

Good point there about Calzaghe. Calzaghe is just too good in my opinion, he actually made Hopkins look slow due to his activity and speed. Calzaghe won that fight fair and square and this is coming from a huge Hopkins fan. Full respect to Calzaghe.

What a performance by Hopkins tonight. This fight will go down in history and I will tell my son about it when he gets older. It's a story about perserverence of a 43 year old man against all odds.

yes and we will now get from the groupies and the uneducated the usual "the hopkins that showed up tonight would beat the **** out of the laxadazical joe that showed up for there fight" neglecting the fact that hopkins doesnt have a twin they are/were the same person and hopkins doesnt jump in and out of brilliance mode at will, he just happened to be tired the night he fought joe he must have slept in today.

    poor kelly.

It is debatable whether Hopkins could have performed with anywhere near the dominance against Calzaghe as he did with Pavlik. Calzaghe gave pressure the whole night and was slipping and moving all the time. Pavlik seemed a little lost by all the angles and could never really find a rhythm at any point in the fight.

He not only faced a very dangerous puncher and the odds at a very difficult time, after a loss and at an advanced age, he proved that he always had that boxing to upset anyone. Proved that you can't knock down the human spirit that burns in you and that he had a statement concerning the Taylor, Pavlik fights - the statement was that he was able to do it after taking two losses to Taylor and exactly against the man who beat him twice, let Roy Jones Jr come now.

I admit full well that Hopkins lost fair and square to Calzaghe. Sure he would have been hit more had he thrown more against Calzaghe. But I dont believe that would have been a problem. His defense is great and he was slipping calzaghes shots left and right. He did quite well in flashes in the later rounds when he would put together combinations but most of the time he only threw one punch at a time which isnt enough. Calzaghe won simply by throwing more. I fully believe that he could beat Calzaghe if he would have been more active.
